Hey there, some of you may know or have encountered a good friend of mine, Sheakan on this forum, but I don't remember his characters name for the life of me. But that's not super important. Just a few questions, the first of which isn't terribly important.

1. How long does it usually take to get a character accepted? I recently sent mine in and haven't gotten a reply one way or the other about me doing everything right or if the character was acceptable. I know they will get to it, I'm just really excited about all this.

2. When is the deadline to submit characters? I have another friend who might join us, and if possible I'd like to give him a set deadline so he doesn't slack and miss his chance.

And the important 3. Does anyone know any neat ways to make a decent outfit? Or have something I could potentially use for this event while I prepare my own outfit for next time? I don't have anything fancy in mind, but anything is better than nothing.

Hi Rollin! I'm Seth Bird and part of the upcoming Plot team. I'll do my best to answer your questions.

The short answer is: We're working to get the culture packets completed. These culture packets will better support the character creation process by giving you background information of the world your character comes from (so you don't have to make everything up yourself). Our goal is to have all of our Culture Packets completed by the end of next week.

We received your e-mail sent on the 22nd, but haven't had a good opportunity to review it from a Plot perspective. Once our culture packets are complete we will work with you on developing your character history more. Chloe or I will try to review the backstory you sent this weekend and provide some feedback. We'll let Logistics know when the history is approved, thereby getting you the additional build.

I highly recommend you send the character build expenditures to logistics@alliance-seattle.com. We Plot folks don't have the character database; the friendly Logistics perosns are the gatekeepers of character data. :)

For a new character, we will be encouraging folks to send their character history at least one week before a game. For pre-registering a new character it is also most advantageous to have your character build sent in to Logistics prior to pre-registering (such as in a seperate e-mail). However, a brand new Level 1 character can be created at site if necessary. That Level 1 character may not have an approved history, but you don't need an approved history to play. We just try to encourage getting an approved history with the carrot of rewarding with Goblin Stamps automatically converted into blankets. :)

I am not good at making outfits. I'll leave this question to our more crafty players to answer. :)

Thanks,
Seth

This entirely depends on your budget. As the New Player Representative for Alliance Oregon (Alliance Seattle's sister chapter), I have some notes on making garb in my New Player FAQ: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LnO ... k1TY/edit#

There should be some notes in there for people of various budget types from the absolute poorest to someone willing to shell out some dough.

Let me know what your budget is and I can help you even more, if you'd like.

Speaking of new player representatives...

Hi! I'm Evan, one of two New Player Reps for Alliance-Seattle, and welcome!

So, these fine gentlemen have already answered, which is awesome, but I wanted to know if you were planning on going to Alliance-Oregon's upcoming event or whether you'd be planning on attending the May 30 Seattle event as your first. This is entirely for logistical reasons, as your character will be based from that chapter. :-)

Also, feel free to fire questions at our email box newplayer@alliance-seattle.com. If we can't answer your question, we'll find out who can!

-Evan

Thanks to all of you for answering my questions. I'm at work at the moment, on my phone, so I can't scope out the link you sent me, but I will get to it on my lunch or when I get home probably.

To answer Evans question, I plan on attending the event in Seattle on May 30th
