I just wanted to jump on here and say, again, how much I appreciated everyone making my first LARP event a fantastic experience.
Garrick - Very nearly the first person who I spoke to and who immediately offered not only the hospitality of the Earth Guild but also answered a lot of in-game questions and helped acquaint me with the area and the history of Tarndale. Throughout the weekend he continued to not only offer advice but some expertly-timed spells during the combat at the tavern and at the graveyard.
Alavatar - Went way out of his way to make sure that my friend Peer and I had all of the knowledge we needed about the local monsters and other nasties. Answered questions for me about spellcasting and magical items. I know it seems silly, but by basically grabbing us by the hand at the beginning of the weekend we were "jump-started" onto the path of roleplaying for the rest of the weekend.
Killian - Came right up to me in the kitchen out-of-game and offered me any assistance that he could. In-game, he was quick with a jest and I think he was appreciative of my wit in return. I was upset to hear that he was slain but elated to hear that he had resurrected successfully.
Maven - Assisted us with a couple of modules and even enabled us to go on one that we had no business being on. Hilarity ensued but no one died (except some lizards).
The NPCs -- without you guys there is no event. No monsters, no plot, no townsfolk. Thank you for running around the woods for hours on end and putting on all of those sweat-drenched costumes over and over to give us a great experience.
As an aside, whoever the NPC was who played the skree who drew a "map" (which ended up being a stick figure of a skree) in my alchemy book; you were incredible. That entire little sidequest was so ridiculous that my face hurt from smiling so much.
I, unfortunately, will not be able to make the Oregon event in October but I plan on being at the next Seattle event in November. I am stoked to attend another.
