Hi guys,
I just checked the weather today for Montrose, and its supposed to be in the 30's and 40's and rain both Friday and Saturday.

PLEASE dress accordingly. This means bringing extras of everything - with temperatures down that far, you will want to make sure to change socks, and other wet clothing often as possible so you do not get cold.

Also, remember to cover your head - this is where you will lose the most heat.

Thank you, and looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend!

For those staying in cabins, remember that there is no electricity or heat in them. You may want to consider bringing an INDOOR propane heater. Eric uses one in his cabin and even with no insulation it stays pretty warm. If you intend on using one, please let me know so I can check it and make sure it's the right type.

NPCs, bring lots of blankets. Unfortunately we do not have an NPC bunk area that is heated yet. I'm thinking we can put a heater and some chairs in the tool room and NPCs can use that area to get warm and hang out.

Also note, you may use space heaters in the private rooms. They are insulated and small and heat up very nicely. Please make sure they are newer with auto shutoff protection. I will be checking each cabin and room to make sure they are up to snuff.

Yes, I do use a portable propane space heater and it rocks. I bought it for about $40 and it uses the standard camping style cans of propane which are pretty cheap. It also has a auto-shut-off feature in the unlikely case that it tips over.

Brr...I checked this morning and I saw snow for Friday. I was hoping that the day to day forcast would have improved, no such luck though. Gonna have to pick up long johns before heading up there.

Edit:

I'm at work and as I finished typing this Johnny Mercer's "Baby Its Cold Outside" came on. Gotta love irony.

Friday : high 35, low 30. Snow showers.
Saturday: high 36 low 33, showers.
Sunday: High 39 low 34.

PLEASE BRING WARM CLOTHING.

That is all. *Shiver*

ALL,

I am very hopeful that the temperature has not gotten low enough at the site to burst any water pipes. But I won't know for certain until I get there early Friday if we will have water or not. Since pipes freeze at 20 degrees and below, I'm thinking we'll be okay.

Also note, that because of this early cold snap, I will be draining the pipes on Sunday, most likely by 1 or 2 pm, as Dee and I have to leave by 3. So plan accordingly. High makeup races, don't forget your baby wipes.

We will also be replacing the PVC piping with more weather resistant pex tubing, hopefully in the spring of next season depending on my time and company funds, so we shouldn't run into this issue in the future.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hey,

Coming from Syracuse, I usualy use back-roads off 81 south to get into Montrose. Anyone know a better way to go incase the snow is bad? I don't have snow tires on my car yet, and won't be able to before the event. So, if anyone has a good recomendation as to an Alt. rout, I'm all ears. Thanks.

PS,
I usualy bring an extra blanket or two. Don't quote me, but in the awfull case someones get wet, I have another for you.

Meg
