Due to security risks concerning this item, it may or may not be available at this auction. It will not be available for prior viewing. Attempts to determine the location or possessor of this item before the auction, either physically, ritually, or through any other sort of espionage, will likely result in its removal from this auction. Purchaser of this item accepts any inherent risks of its ownership. Once purchased, the item must not be brought into proximity of any Magistratum holdings or members. Furthermore, it should not be brought into the vicinity of any Noble Estate. It has been deemed illegal to transport this specific item into Silverford by any means. The purchaser (and whatever descendants, apprentices, or other associates which still survive) must accept any consequences resulting from said purchase and agrees not to hold the Magistratum or any of its members, partners, or constructs responsible for events that transpire after the exchange.

Vial of Sparkling Fairy Dust
Catalyst for the 'Permanent Duration' Ritual

Applications for additional Guards to supplement our number are being considered to provide security during the viewing and exchange. Note that Guards may be required to come into the vicinity of the Vial of Sparkling Fairy Dust, though it is unlikely they will be required to handle it.

Guards are not prohibited from purchasing items, though any items they win will be exchanged after the auction has concluded and their duties have been completed. Guards and their associates may not provide their own security during the exchange.

Greetings, Monsieur Firgins;

I have several questions about this auction, which I believe would be of interest to the wider Public, thus I am posting them here in the hopes you will be able to answer publically. If not, you may convey the answers to me in private missive.

First, you specify opening bids of quantity of Gold pieces. This obviously implies that you will accept the common coin of the land, however, it does not specify what other forms of currency you will be accepting. Will you accept gems at their agreed-upon value (after evaluation, of course!)? Other goods of fine art, jewelry, potent drinks, and similar items? Other magical items and/or ritual scrolls at negotiated values? More common items at negotiated values?

Second, the description of the auction states that bids must be received before a certain time. What type of auction is this to be? Silent with open bids? Sealed bid? Will there be a public bidding portion later on? This (obviously) affects any proxies we might wish to prepare.

Many thanks for your time,
Baron Polare Lissenstine of Keystone Village

Thank you for your interest. Our primary goal was to draw attention to the items in the auction with our initial posting. Due to the short notice of the auction, we felt it was best to make the announcement and follow up with the details as they were solidified.

The opening bids are indeed in gold pieces so that the approximate value is consistent through market variations. We will accept gems, art, and other such objects subject to independent appraisal, however, our preference at this time is hard currency.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer very competitive prices on ritual scrolls, components, or magic items at this time, though if you are interested, we may be able to auction them off on consignment. Similarly, we have a great many capable craftsmen in our employ, so it is not in our favor to offer more than the crafting cost for such items, though if that is amenable to you, we will accept them at that value. If bids tie in value, preference will go to the bidder whose bid is primarily comprised of coin of the realm. When bidding, please indicate approximately what portion of your bid you expect to pay in coin.

Bidding will be silent with open bids, though each participant will be assigned a number rather than using their name, for privacy. A master list of names and numbers will be kept by the auctioneer. All winning bidders will be called individually at the end of the auction, and the winning bidder of the Vial of Sparkling Fairy Dust will be informed that they have won it at that time so that they may make arrangements to take possession of the item.

Should a bidder be unavailable at the end of the auction and not have a pre-arranged proxy in their stead, time will be allotted for runner to be sent before their bid is discarded. Bidding may commence from now until Thursday morning, after which time the goods will be in transit and no new bids will be received until the bidding sheets are available for public viewing at the Tavern in Iron Falls this Saturday afternoon, April the 17th. If you wish to bid early, bidding will be blind, though should our scribe have the time, the opening bids above will be kept up-to-date with the current leading bid.

Thank you for your interest,
Jonas Firgins
