Best Moments, June 2005

-Bendy Posey with the Queen of Nightmares!
-Tour of the realm of the Queen of Nightmares was neat and stuff
-Being Woken up by Trolls on Sunday and told to go drown in the lake. All I could -think to do was sigh and say "fine". Yay 1 hour of sleep.
-If we were in Lantry, we wouldn't be having this problem

more as they develop?

+ All the platipuses' I saw while under the effects of the mushrooms

Cyndel: "I'd love it if you never said that again!"
+ Seeing the Queen of Nightmares realm was cool!
+ Telling jokes to Cyndel while he was under the effects of a laugh >=D
+ being waylayed for it
+ The riddle contest was great... hehe... clocks! You know who you are >.>

Let's see here. Here are most of mine, in no particular order:

--Polare's antics! (No Solomon to be found.:glum: )


--The Camping mod (even though it didn't run as planned, I still had fun. I'd do it again.). (Chasing that darn night owl (or whatever it was) around the forest for two hours (I think) was fun. =D I'm sure Ellie's tail will never be the same.)

--Getting to see Alavatar graduate.

--The Soap Opera: Saga of Polare? ;)

--The tournament

--"Remove [their] gypsy blood forever." *collective gasp*

--Aeris' antics.

--Kai's reasoning (especially about the necklace).

--The riddle competition was fun to watch.

There are more, but work calls.

The Saga of Polare. It started out normally on Friday, with Polare?s usual confident bantering... but as secrets were revealed and confidence kept, every moment spent with Polare became more and more intense! Then came Polare?s jaw-dropping wish on Saturday night... followed by that fateful wake up call on Sunday morning. Ellie spent most of that morning trying to think of a funeral speech that would do justice to such a brave, noble, and misjudged person. Bryan, that was beautiful.

The tournament! Eli?s hilarious style of fighting (skipping with a giant smile). And the final fight; Eli vs Polare. And not knowing who to root for

Mint ice cream, at midnight, straight out of the box, while talking to the two most important people in the world to Ellie.

Shikar singing. Hands down, that was awesome.

Philosophical discussions with Kai. He may talk simply, but his mind breeches the depths of the universe.

A sleepy conversation on the grass with Amelie. Sometimes the greatest moments are the simple ones.

The camping mod. Even if it didn't quite run as planned, I am glad I went. There was some incredible RP up there, and by taking such a huge risk with my character, I got out of a bit of a slump I'd been having.

More later. Carmen is boxing up her computer right now! Arg!

And Papa's example of the dog was neat too. Those older wise folks sure can surprise ya. ;D

Yes!!! Polare's speech was incredible! Did you notice how, as Polare explained the real reason for his wish, a beam of sun actually broke through the clouds, illuminating him and Papa Dayeva! It was like something out of a movie! Such a shame that only four people got to witness that. ^_^ And Dave, BRAVO on your rendition of Papa Dayeva! Despite lack of costuming and the ungodly hour of the morning, I didn't doubt for a moment who you were. And that thing that you did with your eyebrows was really cool!

Another memorable aspect of this game was the endless fog of carnivorous mosquitoes. It made for such an odd moment; my attention divided between the final battle in the tournament, keeping my brother sane, and attempting to fight off those blasted little blood-suckers. (They defeated me good. I have exactly 9 bites on *each* knee.)

Talking with Polare until dawn on Friday. Stange how IG stuff can sometimes hold so much OOG relevance. How it?s possible to love a two year old... that was some valuable advice. Thank you.

The most powerful beings in the universe suddenly appearing in the tavern, and Ellie scrambling to give them good service. Ellie nearly had a heart attack when she realized that she forgot to serve the hunter, and he immediately declared ?The service here stinks!? And when the King confined her, she was sure she was done for.

The conclusion of the liche plotline was really fun. Not as much terrible stuff happened as I?d hoped, but Mr. Ugly Bones did the best he could considering circumstances. A lot of great RP! Thanks Bond, for rolling with me on that one!


I still can?t figure out what exactly made this game so great. Maybe it was just a combination of everything; good plot, good RP, incredibly devoted NPCs, and a recent change in my attitude about the game. Whatever it was, thank you everyone! That game was *perfect*

Thanks for giving me something to think about while I?m in my basement in Alaska this summer. See ya?ll in September! Take care!
 
So, we're sitting there at the logistics table chatting about WoW and Andy walks up.
Conversation as follows:
Me: "Oh, hey, so, we're in Redridge the other day and I look up and see a bat with a level omg undead rogue named Tantarus fly over head. And I'm like, 'Dan, check out what I just saw!" and he's like, 'no way, cool."
Andy: "What server, Lightbringer?"
Me: "Yeah!"
Andy: "Heh, we just canceled our accounts..."

Sunday morning, Taiya and I the only two people sitting in the tavern, with a sleeping Syndel on the tables going unnoticed as three trolls approach. The sudden rush of "aw crap!" as we hide in the back, debate opening the door and fleeing, as I search for a wall of force scroll... and find a wizard lock. "Ok, here's the plan... when they aren't looking, we'll scamper over and I'll toss this up real fast-like. Ready? OK, go!"
Then the trolls went away... and then came back and tried to kick us out... only to find themselves stopped by my uber scroll-making powers! Then, they got attacked and I ran out and totally overblasted one of them. (Jacquelyn: "How much did you just do?" Me: "60! Fall down!") The satisfaction of being a boom caster and actually killing something by myself, and saving a fair damsel in distress! ;)

Poor Spencer playing the finfolk who said "give me all your valuables," and started getting clothing... You totally missed it Jeff. :P

Actually, I'll have you know that I paid big bucks for the special effects at that moment. Things gotta be just right, you see... But dang the SFX union fees are killer!

Was a fun event. Lots and lots and LOTS of RP stuff for me, but mostly with other PCs (had lots of fun with Dave as Papa Dayeva too of course, thanks for not having me perm'd!).

The bat chase was quite suspense-filled too, especially when I decided to see just how close I could get to the other PCs waiting in ambush before they noticed me. Close enough to make them jump :)

Now Johnathan knows why all the Fae dont ususally hang out around the Crossroads. The amount of bugging and pestering people gave Johnathan was incalcuable.

JP's new character was cool. Glad I got to do some RP with him.

Finishing up a loose end that I had been working on for over a year.

I would say that I liked the Tournament, but that would be a lie. I liked the Fae being around, and Im gonna miss them.

Realizing exactly HOW bad my french has gotten since Highschool/college, and playing a snooty High Elf.

Making Jonathan a fey. . . That was so cool.

Dave and me being mean to each other as the King and Queen!
