Biata Claws - glove source

I am making some biata claws for some of the guys in Caldaria. My problem is that the easy to find "one size fits all" prom gloves have no chance of fitting their large hands or wide forearms. Does anyone have any suggestions of other gloves to use or where to find extra large evening gloves (i.e. longer, wider fingers and wider forearms)? Particularly helpful would be stores in the Boston area, but online sources are fine too.

Thanks.

I have seen people use batting gloves or golf gloves. They don't cover the forearm, so they aren't quite as impressive, but they get the job done once fully feathered and clawed.

Your other choice would be to trace their hand and make a custom glove.

Thanks. These look like they might be what I want, or at least better than what I've found so far. Sadly the elbow length ones are out of stock. And when I'm making 6 claws, buying the longer ones only to cut them down is more expense than I can do at the moment. But I'll see if anyone else has these or call the company to see when they expect them to be back in stock. Much appreciated!

Not sure if these are any better but they apparently made for men, so you'd assume they would be expected to be a bit larger.

Tammy, making your own gloves out of a spandex or lycra material isn't that hard. You have to get the feel for sewing it, but because of the stretch it's very forgiving. I've made three separate pairs of gloves for the past few Halloweens (Batman and Goliath & Desdemona from Gargoyles) and it wasn't too difficult. Finding the material is the hardest part. You can use tracings from the people you're making them for as a starting point. I didn't make a separate thumb, which would seem the hardest part and it's not really necessary with spandex or lycra.

I feel kind of sissy now that I've typed this ;)

Don't worry Scott,
There is nothing wrong with a man who can cook, sew, and express himself thru foam covered plumbing supplies. The ladies love it.

After the end of the world there isn't going to be anyone left except for Larper's, SCAdians, boy scouts, and crazy mountain militia men.

It's going to be a very strange world, even without the zombies.
