Boost/Permanent/Preserve Duration

Per conflicting information regarding the RAW on scrolls and the RAW on extenders, I'd like clarification on the following:

1) Can a Boost Duration be placed at the beginning of a batch of rituals, so as not to place the entire batch at risk should the Boost fail?

2) Can you Boost a Permanent/Preserve Duration? I.E. Can I cast a Permanent Duration, Boost it, take my item to another chapter, cast twelve rits, and all twelve are now Permanent?
