Brooks Medieval Fantasy Faire

Hey all so in case you didnt notice on the FB page there is a Medieval & Fantasy Faire happening in Brooks August 11th & 12th..... this is a great opportunity for us to meet up in costume and just hang out without having to worry about dieing  its also my birthday weekend! so on that note I would like to see everyone down there, preferably in costume cuz dressing up makes it funner :bat: but just to hang out would be more than cool! I'll be camping out there somewheres and was thinking peeps should come out and party after the faire for a wee bit, perchance to have a dram or 2.... or 3 or 4

We are planning on being down for part of the weekend and would love to meet up for the faire.

Lorne and Dianne

Myth is running a booth there. If you show up in costume and help promote Alliance there may just be a reward for you! :mer:

If I can arrange a ride there and back I'd be willing to help out. How far out is Brooks, and is the overnight accommodation reasonably priced? (I don't usually book hotels so IDK what the range is)

I have not much interest in the faire otherwise, if I volunteer to help out with the booth can I get a ride with the Myth staff?

We don't need help in the booth. Gwen and I have that covered. The Faire is just a really cool experience for everyone. We went last year and had a blast. If players want to come down in costume and spread some information about the LARP around that would be fantastic.

Keith and I are thinking of coming out for the saturday for sure, I want to see more jousting!!! It was super fun last year that's for sure.

May I get a ride over with you two? I'd prefer to go with people instead of taking the greyhound (I'd even give you the $25 I would have spent on the greyhound for gas & vehicle maintenance.)

Then if I can arrange a room sharing with other people who are going for the weekend I'd be mostly set ^-^.

Candace, I am soooooo coming out there. Would it be cool to bunk with you in that massive tent you have?

It's roughly 1.5-2 hours away and I won't be going as

1. It's an hour away from home so I'd have to go visit my parents, and
2. I leave for GenCon two days after that.

Sounds like fun tho.

HAHA hells ya Dayna you can stay in the Pleasure Palace!! :funny: squeeeeeeee!!! Its gonna be good times had!

Would I be also able to snatch a bunk? o.o I did not know of this, but finally I can plan for epic bakery moment without worrying on IG skills!

I'm still looking to split the cost of the room (most of the cheap hotels I've checked are 105$ regardless of weather it's 1 or 2 adults) IDK how close they are to the grounds, however.

hmmm I have to double check the numbers in my tent with some other peeps that were coming from here & Edmonton but I think I have another tent otherwise or if you have a tent than stay at our site
I personally think we should all camp out there for some good times after the faire lol :hahaha:

Good time for sure! ...i mean

I'll bring my cabin tent. Only good for Gwen and myself, but a campout sounds like a brilliant plan!

I don't have a tent (and I don't much like sleeping in them), however it would save money if someone has a 'space' for me in one (and perhaps a share in any 'camp area' fees, if applicable - I don't know much about it), otherwise I'm happy getting a hotel ^_^.

Justin I may have a spare tent that you can have. Unless the ex swiped it. I'll take a peak in the basement. You can usually do two tents per site and one vehicle.

Don't forget to bring your Colors to represent.

@brett - great, let me know when is a good time to come over and pick it up (or for you to come here to drop it off, we live in the same neighbourhood, remember)

I purchased the Kimono I wore from David, and it's now a part of my 'regular' outfit. I have a very, very strange mix of Celtic and Oriental accents due to the way I've developed my character >< Started with a Welch/Celtic feel so I lived most of my life in Middenvale, and then now that I'm spending so much time with the Imperials I'm more or less 'adopted' I keep getting oriental-themed gifts and stuff.

Wales, meet Nepal. OMGWTFBBQ!

The Imps are just keeping you close in case there's a food shortage. BBQ the bird!
