Camp Information

Hey All!

Just wondering what the facilities are like at Camp Sakakawea. Will we be staying in cabins or platform tents? Are the cabins heated? Is there electricity and/or running water available? Are there showers on site?

Also, we will be arriving late, probably around 11-11:30PM. Should we call the camp guy or Chris/Dave to be let into the camp? Will the gate even be locked? Any other important info we should know?

Really looking forward to the event!

Thanks,
Alison

With regards to the camp facilities...
There are four main buildings that will be used. Three have propane heat (the tavern, NPC camp, and one of the PC buildings) and the other one has a wood burning stove for heat like the nice cabins at Camp Greilik (the other PC building). There are flush toilets and running water in the buildings and a separate shower house with stalls. The shower house is unisex so we have to be mindful and courteous when showering. The tavern building also has a shower room. The tavern is a combat tavern; we just have to be mindful of the light fixtures. They have exposed bulbs.

Chris or Dave probably have more information, but I wanted to get you a basic answer quickly. I know there are also smaller cabins that a group can rent out for an extra $25 (If I remember correctly), but I am not sure about amenities in these cabins.

The 4 main buildings we are renting all have power and heat, North Manitou is one of the PC cabins and uses an outside wood stove. both North and South Manitou will sleep 16 each on 8 bunks with mattresses, there is also a refrigerator in each. South Manitou has a basement with a door to the outside.
Tee-jon-ka troop house will sleep 28 mattresses on the floor, propane heat, kitchen, bathroom with shower, this is the NPC building.
Oleson Lodge is the Tavern, heated, full kitchen and lots of room to sit and eat.
