Someone mentioned Carmen Sandiego and while searching for the Rockapella theme song (posted in that thread) I found this. The show redone as if it was like a gritty cop drama. Check it out here. Language is NSFW

I did catch Street Fighter: The Later Years. Nine parts, extrememly funny. Dhalsim is driving a cab and I kept thinking of Mohinder from HEROES (whose episodes return to NBC in September!)

I always thought they sang the above as "Chicago to Czechoslavakia and back."
 
I used to think that to, but hearing the song again I'm not so sure. I don't remember when the split ocurred with those two countries. Doing a search for lyrics I found sites that listed it as the name of the unified country and others the listed it how I did. I suppose I could check Rockapella's website to be sure.
 
Holy Crap! I just looked a the Rockapella website and they're going to be here, in York...tomorrow night. :(

Bah. Why do people have to change the lyrics to be more PC? It sounds better when it is one word. Chicago to Czech and Slovakia and back is a very gangly phrase/sentance.

Hmm... too bad there is an event this weekend. Heh. If I were in the area I'd pay extra to grab tickets to a show of theirs.
 
I don't think it's a PC thing. The song teaches world geography. The lyrics needed to change to be accurate. There isn't a Czechoslovakia anymore. Now we have the Czech Republic and Slovakia .
 
They stayed true to the original rhythm while updating for accuracy.
 
Consistancy is important.

If that is the inference you're drawing from that, then sure.

What I was implying was probably more offensive.
