Good People of Acarthia,

Her Grace Duchess Tiberion's October Court will welcome a change in format to the New Acarthia School of Chivalry. This is the only center of such learning in the Duchy of Acarthia which is entirely open to citizens of the kingdom, without need for sponsorship of any type. Unlike similar schools at Moorefield Keep and the Three Spires, anyone may freely join the discussions and lessons in New Acarthia.

To further this atmosphere of open exploration of philosophical and cultural topics, New Acarthia's Chivalry School will now enjoy a more casual roundtable format of intellectual conference. Topics of conversation will remain similar in theme to those presented in New Acarthia in the past year. All are welcome to attend.

The philosophy discussion will occur at 10 bells on Sunday mornings during court, at Deepjugs Tavern. Those already breaking their fast in the tavern are welcome to continue eating during the discussion; the atmosphere is intended to be casual.

The training of Squires from Acarthia's Baronial Courts will now be held in a separate Squire School, conducted in the High Town pavilion (unless otherwise noted), at the hour of sunset and spells rememorization on Saturday evenings during court.

During the month of October, when veils between worlds are said to be most thin and the unliving walk the land without fetter, the topic of discussion for both Squire School and the School of Chivalry is: The War Against Evil. We will question the difference between being our enemy, and being truly evil. How can one recognize evil to make war ceaselessly against it, as the Code of Chivalry instructs us? Can all persons of good heart agree on what and who is evil? Are we in agreement as a people on these notions? Is redemption from the state of being truly evil possible? If so, is it our duty to seek that redemption, or even permissible to risk further harm to others while we do so? If the nobility and those of good heart must make war against evil without cessation, under what terms can that war truly come to treaty, compromise, or end? These and other questions will be raised with both Squires and the general public during our October discussions.

All nobles and squires of the Kingdom of Acarthia are invited to attend Squire School on Saturday evening during the rememorization of spells, at the High Town Pavilion. Squire School is a private session, and otherwise closed to the general public.

All interested persons are welcome to attend this discussion with the New Acarthia School of Chivalry at 10 bells on Sunday morning, in Deepjugs Tavern.

In service to Acarthia,
Dame Katherine Albright
First Knight of Rivervale
