character question

Can you play a human? like just a basic one with no abilities (i assume), or do you have to choose from one of the other races?

You can play human. You are not required to play another race.

You will notice on the race page that human are mentionned with the other races.

thanks, i noticed that but it didnt say anywhere that you were allowed to so i wanted to double check

No worries. There is not race package for humans so that can bring questions as to whether it can be played.
