To add to this, good ways to keep you and your cabin warn outside of turning on the heater includes hanging tapestries and such on the walls, putting down rugs, remembering to shut the door (seems to be the hardest one for most), taking off wet clothes and hanging them over the heater to dry as well as eating well (this last one may seem odd but if you let your body get to run down on food it will not expend as much energy in keeping you warm. ) Lastly I recommend getting palm or foot heaters that you can slide into your gloves or boots, for those of you that get cold easy.
