There is a web page where you can play Risk with your friends. It's free to play. There are a number of different maps and variations to choose from, which makes it quite interesting.

Come play. Go to http://www.conquerclub.com/

Then go to "join a game" and look for "join private games"

Here are some private games I have set up, which means they are not open to everyone but only people I invite (which is you). The password is "LARP":
