Common Room and Wards

I am just looking for a confirmation here.

In the common room, if you completely partition off a bunk (for example with cloth walls), you can ward it, correct?

Can you ward just one bed of a bunk if you partition off just that bed?
I am trying not to lock anyone out of a bed.

As far as I've seen, the only bottom limit for a Ward/Wizard lock is the size of your body; most Chapters I've played in don't allow Wards smaller than a person since if you warded a small chest, etc., you couldn't get all the way in or all the way out, so it gives Marshals all kinds of headaches about when/if you're affected by stuff.

So, (barring local rulings) Yes: a section of a building could be Warded excluding all others so long as it was partitioned; an entire bunk-bed could be Warded; a single bunk of that bunk-bed could be Warded.

Just remember, you CAN put a smaller Ward inside a larger Ward, but you can NOT put a bigger Ward around a smaller Ward - ie, you can Ward down, not up (the opposite of the Circle of Power mechanic). So don't Ward your bunk before the building is Warded elsewise you'll stop the larger building from being Warded.

I think case I believe the larger building would be the tavern... And I believe there would be fits from certain members of the adventuring populace if the tavern general were warded so not much worry there about 'warding up'... ;)

Haha - with as many Biatas as Ashbury sports, you're prolly right. Course, it's amazing what people are willing to swallow when the proper things go bump in the night

No, as far as I'm aware Ashbury Biata would literally rather permanently die than sleep in a ward. It depends where you are but both Biata and Barbarians are very adamant about that in Ashbury. In fact the court of Norden's cabin is usually never warded since they have a Barbar knight.

And we thank you so much for pointing out that Nordenn doesn't have ANY PROTECTION (unless you count said surly barbarian), Dave! (Kidding.. everyone knows we don't have a ward).

I found the note helpful and informative. ;)

That doesn't exclude them from sticking random prisoned people as human baricades in from of the door!

humans make good barricades, as well as shields and disposable friends
