Confusion Abounds

Hello,

After a couple of years of stagnation I've finally decided to come back into the LARP world. I'm stationed in the Lehigh Valley and was very happy to find this Alliance. However you have so much information here that I don't know where to start. So I'll just ask a few questions so I can get sorted.

First off who would I contact to get involved for a face to face interaction? As in, meet someone of authority and talk to them about the LARP? I'm currently living in Lehighton near Jim Thorpe so who would be the closest? I figure that finding someone close to me to talk to about this would be my best bet about getting involved in your LARP universe.

Thank you very much for your support,
Ai

With Lehigh Valley about a year away, I would say you've got a few other options to get a taste of the game including a new chapter which helps if you want to PC off the bat and not worry about being a tiny character.

Crossroads in upstate NY, and the NJ chapter are both pretty much close to Lehigh Valley.

...and yet, our very own HeadQuarters Campaign is even closer. located in luxerious Montrose PA, HQ is but a mere 2 hours drive from the Lehigh Valley area. Sporting the longest running campaign in Alliance history, this fabulous place to play also boasts of it's very own permenant LARPing site owned by the very folks who run the campaign.

Interested in face time? Getting to know the staff, players, and props of the game before you commit to a visit to the site itself? Our head of Props Mr. Richard Ditzler owns the prestigeous Adventurer's Guild Gaming Store in Beautiful Harrisburg PA (http://www.theadventurersguild.com/index.asp?page=dirs) and is always looking for folks to lend a hand or hang out and talk about the games they love.

--------------

in all seriousness though, NJ, Crossroads, and HQ are all good alternatives to the Lehigh Valley campaign (which is going to be awesome) while waiting for it to open. And for those with the desire and means to travel further, Ohio, CT, and NH are very popular Alliance destinations on the East Coast as well.

To offer my two cents. I'm from the Lehigh Valley, and I just played Crossroad's first event which was really good, and it's got a level cap which IMNSHO is very cool. It was only about an hour and a half away.

As has been stated, from Lehigh Valley your three closest options are Crossroads, Headquarters and New Jersey. Each has their own section on these boards and the players and staff of all three would be more than happy to talk with you about the specifics of that chapter.

HQ is having an event this weekend, NJ is having an event 4th of July weekend, and Crossroads has an event the following weekend if I recal correctly. Come give us all a try!
