Prince Aeros,
I tire of posturing prose, especially that which seeks to undermine any peaceful approach to problem solving by alluding to dissengenous intent on my part.
I'm shocked that a the prince of an entire island doesn't hold truck for the use of precise words to convey meanings clearly rather than childish expression. Is the use of polite terms truly an affront to all?
To be clear, while we fought and your side was defeated, I'm sorry that our meeting was on the wrong side of a field of battle as you are a capable warrior and many such will be needed in the near future. I owed a debt of honor to the man leading the foray and sought only to protect my people. I attempted to offer quarter and was met with murderous intent. I do not hold this against you, we had different victory conditions. Mine to free the Lizardfolk from the Yoke of Libara and safeguard their eggs, you to keep them hostage or destroy their line of succession. Both of my objectives were met and I have no further quarrel with you unless you seek it with me.
War begets war only war and no good comes of revenge. There is, however, gain to be had from sometimes swallowing ones broken pride in the pursuit of lasting peace.
