We're making an effort to streamline a little bit and try to make sure that dishes, eating times, cooking times, and the like work well between the various groups that will be using the kitchen. This is less of an issue for people who are cooking for just themselves and more an issue when large groups are getting together.
Gabe has been (and will be) cooking for the NPCs, but I know that some of the other groups tend to work out group meals as well. I was thinking that it might be helpful to try and co-ordinate that so that every group is cleaning up their dishes and clearing the preparation space as they go so that no one else's meal gets held up because the previous group didn't clean up right away. Dishes at the Oregon event were pretty bad, and while we had been doing better at the last Seattle game, we still have a ways to go to keep everything moving smoothly.
Please everyone (group cooking or not) keep in mind that you can't just 'leave your dishes for later.' Someone else needs those dishes, that space, or whatever right now, and you're forcing them to clean up your mess just so they can prepare their food. Like we did at our last event, we're going go check on the kitchen at Logistics and shut down MC until the kitchen is clean. We're also going to keep a radio on hand near the kitchen and if we get word mid-day that the kitchen is terrible, we're going to close MC until it's clean. (It won't be NPCs be doing the cleaning, we're just going to chill.) It's been bad, but we're hoping that everyone will pitch in a little more (it won't take much if everybody does it) and it won't be necessary to shut down monster camp.
Anyways, post up here if you're planning on doing group cooking, and hopefully we can work out a semi-functional timeline so we're not stepping on each other all night in the tavern.
