Good afternoon!
Most of you know that I've been working on a LARP for some time now. The first weekend event in April had 57 players (PCs) participating. We had players from Mortal Tears, Amtgard, SCA, Alliance (NERO), and Legacies, as well as a number of brand-new players - the system is designed to be easy to learn without sacrificing depth of play over the years of the campaign.
Devia is a live-action roleplaying game that delivers political intrigue, exploration, and research in a latex weapon / boffer combat system over a full weekend. Our next weekend event will be held September 11-13, 2009 at Silver Falls Youth Camp near Silverton, OR - about an hour and a half from Portland. The event is free to NPC or PC for your first event, or $50 (with discounts for students and preregistrations) for existing players. Our followup event is set for January 8-10, 2010 at Millersylvania State Park near Olympia.
Check out the website at http://devia.larper.com, where you can download the Core Rulebook and Setting Atlas. If you're interested in coming to the event but don't want to invest in a set of costuming or latex weapon before knowing if Devia is for you, we also offer equipment rentals so you can try a character concept out easily. Head on over to our forums at http://larper.com/larpBB and say hi!
