Doing more at NERO

I'm only sad because we can't have real animals. I was thinking that some day, when I have my own NERO ranch, we could have an actual cavalry, and that would be AWESOME, but then they told me we couldn't have real animals.

I think a cavalry would be AWESOME.

I think a while back Cymryc and I were talking about getting those mock riding horse costumes that you wear on suspenders and running around like that. ;)

Horses could be cool to ride, but they just don't know the meaning of "no charging". Not only that, but it's a pain to cover their hooves and teeth in boffer material, let me tell you.

I've always wanted to do a white water rafting mod, though. Something like, start way up in the mountains, and then have to stop off somewhere to hike up to a cave to find the Thing of Specialness?, then make camp for the night, and raft down a few more miles, into a gorge, and seek out a new civilization, stay in a weird mudhut village or something for a couple of days and go on a quest, then raft out to Home?. Plot could rent helicopters to air drop the NPCs into the spots where we're heading, and keep in contact with cell phones or what not.

And if you think it's that far-fetched, then realize that there are games that do something just like that. Monster Camp ATVs for getting to location, airdrop raids on the PC camp, etc. Sure, its a more paintball cyberpunk gama, buit still.

Ahh, that's a familiar sounding story. I remember that my idea for bicycle jousting went over poorly in the UW group.

Or you could bang coconut halves together...

Actually, I too have really wanted to do a White Water Rafting Adventure for NERO Alliance Seattle. I am not familar with the runs here in Washington, but there are a couple in California I know would work well. Now my IG scenario was a little different, but I still think it would be fun. The biggest stumbling blocks I can think of is 1) Cost-these trips are not cheap 2) Finding a white water group that would work with us and dismiss us freaks. It would cool to have the guides be IG fully. I'd love to see people shoot Dragon's Tooth (Class IV) on the Klamath in game! Take the left fork! WOOT!

....

I guess I miss rafting! lol! I think it would be a lot of fun, but I don't think that it is going to happen this summer though.

I can see it now

*L* Actually, while I was in Florida, I lived by the beach, where I did deli deliveries on roller blades. Some guys and I put together PVC lances and other weapons and did a wacky form of jousting with that. Safety gear was definitely a must.

I've been meaning to go white water rafting anyways. Last time I tried it in an innertube, and it didn't go over so well (and I lost the tube).

Count me in.

Also, if anyone wants to go skydiving, keep in mind that I would love to try it.

Dude, that'd be freaking awesome! Even if the cost is high, I'd save up if I knew about it long enough in advance!

...but...only Level IV rapids? Why not level V!

I happen to know a thing or two about white water rafting here in WA. There are a few good, cheap places in eastern washington and it runs about $65 per person. its alot of fun and most are guided tours. I would sugjest that if you are serious about it then look into companys that raft class 3 rapids, good for beginers and still alot of fun. If you wanted to do it yourself for a NERO thing and be able to bring your gear then buying, renting or obtaining your own boats would be the best way to go and then find a river that has anywhere between class 1 and class 3 rapids. Class 3 rapids and up can be a little dangerous without an experienced guide. I have done Class 4 rapids and let me tell you they are scarry but fun.

When consulting my characters personalities, I got two VERY different reactions to this white water rafting idea.

Neume: Bring it on! Water is my friend!
Kitty: NO WAY! It would get my fur wet.

Since my reaction is "Once I master running full tilt on wet grass, I might move on to running full tilt on cement. White water rafting? Too dangerous." I have discovered I am a wimp and I admit it proudly.

Guess I'll have to stay on plot and organize the thing.

I do have two rafts

Yeah i do have two white water rafts if you ever want to borrow them. You just have to come down and get them. We rafted a while ago it is loads of fun.

I will not jump out of a perfectly good aircraft though at one time I could have flown it for you!
