Dryad questions

As I mentioned before, I'm going to start a dryad character at some point. I've decided on playing a thorn rogue and If I can convince my fiancee to come out at some point, she's thinking about playing a purple spore dryad. I have a couple questions, and while they might be more appropriate for the national "Races" forum, part of it is specific to this chapter, so I figured I'd ask here.

According to the rulebook, Thorn Dryads are the most common type, but they're not mentioned in the SoMn players' guide, which claims that barkskins are the most common by far. Is that an intentional omission? Are Thorn Dryads more rare in the Sheltered Lands?

Dryads have been sleeping for at least a century at the behest of the First Forest. What, if anything, do they remember of their lives before?

How common are dryads in the general population? One in a thousand people? A million? Are there any non-"adventurer" dryads?

Is there anything else I should know about local dryad culture that's not covered in the players' guide?

While thorn dryads are indeed the most common in Fortannis, our local player's guide covers what is most prevalent in the immediate area the players are in, this should by no means make you feel 'restricted' to those options, they are mostly there as a launching point for people trying to generate ideas. Most dryads typically tend to awaken with vague memories, or memories restricted to day to day activities of their previous time, but again if you have something more interesting in mind for your back story shoot it off to our plot staff.

In Gaden (the main area of our game) Dryads are fairly rare, mostly seen coming in from the dense forests to the west, but occasionally new Dryads awaken within the boarders from their various sleeping locations. There are significant pockets of 'non adventurer' Dryads that have been met in game, mostly Bark and fungal/spore types, but those are by no means exhaustive.

As to race packets, those are one of the things I'm looking forward to being able to spend more time on as we online our fantastic new staff structure, but they will likely not begin to be available until January and even then they'll likely come out in small groups of 2-3 races.
