Nice to see they both work as reliably as the old ones did.

Been moving for the past two and a half weeks and only last night did internet return. Outlook has been fussy and not wanting to send emails out.

I appreciate the concern though.

</sarcasm>

Actually, it was the plot one (and the Dave one) that I personally was getting crickets from, but now that you mention it, it did seem I'd heard some other people voice concerns that they weren't getting replies logistically either.

Good to know the entirety of Seattle staff all moved at once (/bane Sarcasm)

The Nexus move has been hell on wheels for the last two weeks. Suffice to say I will seriously go pompeii on anyone who snarks in our general direction... because I'm too tired to take any snark.

Seconded. I'm currently working 3AM to Noon on top of the move, so I probably have less patience for random whinging (unspecific) in the direction of my household than the others. In other words, if Brad or I didn't get around to something you (unspecific) wanted you're going to have to live with it this time around. Sorry (kind of, in that too tired to care sort of way).

In regards to other emails not being answered...plot@ is not yet being received by anyone, so anything being sent there is stacking up for the moment until someone *does* take it over. Please continue to send requests there, as they will not be lost, just delayed until someone starts checking that inbox.

Okay fine, understood, and mildly apologetic/sympathetic having just moved myself while working a 12 hour shift schedule. However:

-No notice was given to the player base that staff would be offline and unavailable for any reason, so what are any of us to assume when we get no reply?
-On August 12, the OWNER posted that plot emails should go there, so why do that if no one is checking it as of yet?
-on Aug 21 a logistics staffer posted up to send stuff in, so he had access but made no mention of staff being off line from replying to it.
-There's been a fairly steady stream of snark from at least one resident of that house on the national boards throughout that period, so why would anyone assume there's been no internet available?
and lastly
-There's a huge, really old pile of precedent going back for years (and yes spanning several administrations) of precedent of emails "not received" for weeks at a time, so what reasonable person would not jump to the thought of "here we go again"?

So, once again a breakdown in communication all around has led to player aggravation, staff inflamation, and general no goodness. Will this madness never end?

Vote for Kael'Thas.

How about that Real life had intruded on your friends rather than your friends just being dicks to you?

That's all Dave. Not touchin' it.

-on Aug 21 a logistics staffer posted up to send stuff in, so he had access but made no mention of staff being off line from replying to it.

That was Eric, not Brad. Eric had internet access and does pre-reg tag pulling. Brad had no internet access and answers the emails. Their names even show up in different color! Brad's is orange and Eric's is blue! Isn't it neat?

I happen to have access to the Bellevue Community College computers because I happen to be a student there. This is not the same for anyone else in this household. Ergo, I can go somewhere and jack in for free and they cannot. Also, while perhaps Brad could have gone somewhere else to jack in, he wouldn't have been able to actually do anything logistically, so him going elsewhere would be a moot point. (Just to cover that base.)

The point being, there are places people can go to be online rather than being at home (****, I can get WiFi at McD's these days) and taking a second to remember this fact would go a LONG way to answering the question of "why can one person in that household get online but another can't?"

-There's a huge, really old pile of precedent going back for years (and yes spanning several administrations) of precedent of emails "not received" for weeks at a time, so what reasonable person would not jump to the thought of "here we go again"?

I feel so loved. Really. Nice to know that's what you thought of my time doing Logistics... since, y'know, I did it every Saturday exactly like I said I would when I was doing Logistics.

So, once again a breakdown in communication all around has led to player aggravation, staff inflamation, and general no goodness. Will this madness never end?

Not until players stop being jerks to their friends who are volunteering their time, as much as they are able, to helping their other so-called-friends play a bloody game.

Now, if you'd like a TLDR version of this one, just let me know and I'll go dig up the ASCII.

Hmmm, well Mr. Proportion, it seems your problem is that something's been blown out of you, probably brought on by some irritant. If left untreated, this could certainly lead to some very serious consequences. I recommend you try to keep it clean and give it some time to heal over, and then we'll take another look at it in a few days. That's usually the best way to treat this kind of thing you know.

Now, back to the Valid point I was trying to make. A two minute posting before the whole move thing went down would have made it so none of your FRIENDS would be left wondering why their FRIENDS who do volunteer their personal time to run a PROFESSIONAL orgainzed game were not responding to their friendly letters with questions or concerns with the upcoming game in three days time. Or, those same people could have asked some of their other friends on staff to field those responsibilites while they were unable to, considering the period in question was the two weeks running up to a three day long event. Throw into the mix the fact that Seattle has had a very bad reputation for miscommunication or lack of communication (sorry if that rubs someone's raw spot, but it's true and we all know it) and the several FRIENDLY conversations I've had with members of the current staff reguarding my FRIENDLY advice that they be sure to focus on better lines of communication in order to bolster their new staff's rep amongst the players, and you get FRIENDS concerned that their FRIENDS on staff are going to wind up shooting themselves in the foot and making their jobs just that much harder. Finally, considering I've called every member of Seattle's staff FRIEND for between five and TEN YEARS, I felt fairly safe in the knowledge that you all knew me well enough to take a little off the cuff sarcasm as a motivator as just that and not some diabolical attack on your characters. I guess SOME people don't know me as well as I thought they did.

If you cared, you'd ask instead of getting sarcastic. Suffice to say your sarcasm has not been well-received.

If you'd like to know about our moving progress, you're welcome to go dust off the link to my livejournal that I know I gave you oh-so-long ago.

Enough, please? Kasuni was kind enough to post the link regarding the good sportsmanship rule in regards to this board. If you feel you need to continue this argument, please do so elsewhere.

Thanks

I don't feel the rule applies in this case (the more vigorous part of the discussion being mostly NERO-irrelevant). However, I will be reasonable enough not to follow up my original post with more snappiness.

The email issue is being rectified as soon as the appropriate parties check their PMs for their account information. That said, I'm going to close this thread, as it has served its purpose.
