can you evade a riposte if the original attack was a normal blow such as say i have an alchemic coat on a wep and i hit someone they riposte it back at me can i evade or do i have to wast a dodge?

Yes you can Evade it. The Riposte does not change the nature of the attack, therefore any defense that would normally have worked against that weapon swing would still work on it after being Riposted.
