event writing colaboration tool

Hey, I wondered if some of the head people out there had started to look at and/or see google wave. It could be an amazing tool for writing collaboration, especially in places where you have whole plot teams working on an event outline.

Way ahead of ya. :P

Honestly, I"m not seeing Wave being a whole lot more useful than the google group we use now.

It will definately be better for a lot of our documents that change rapidly, the ability to drop a new shield into the Heraldry document, putting new locations on the plot map or having an NPC database which we can all add to without having to have the whole team download the documents again is nifty. It's very similar to the online meeting software we use at work, but I don't see it replacing the current Google group just yet.

Its still in beta, but if you watch the longish demo that explains just how far it can (and I believe will) go you'll see how different it is. Everything updating concurrently for one thing means that people could literally work on the same thing at the same time.

LongISH? Who's got time for a 1.5 hour video about a beta product? Yeesh!

There's lots of great collab software out there, project mgt, event mgt, etc... I have little doubt Google will surpass them all in the future.

And develop much shorter training products.

seriously Christina... its worth the watch... I was somewhat skeptical too, but its amazing. Can't put it more strongly than that.

i watched the whole thing. it was fascinating. and it isn't a training doc, it's a presentation they gave to developers who they were giving access to the product pre-beta. they were nice enough to publish it publicly for us nerds who actually like this stuff. :geek:

And now its out in Beta, if someone would like an invite let me know. :)
