Expired Magic Items

If you have a magic item that expires, what should you do with it? Just bring the tag and rep to Logistics and let them handle it? Or do you just rip up the tag and deal with it yourself?

pretty sure you can just rip the tag. I'm sure logistics might re-use the rep. But I also think you can sell them for IG coin as well if I'm not mistaken.

Most chapters will give you gobbies for returning magic item reps (since they're pre-numbered and save on dremeling), so it's worth turning them in.

Anyone with Merchant skill can sell the spent item at Logistics.

What if said item was made in Ohio, and has OH next to the number? Should I stil turn it into NH? Especially because I'm probably not going back to Ohio for quite a while...

You should contact ohio. Or ask if your local chapter sends reps back on a regular basis.

I usually save them up for the year and mail all reps back to the appropriate chapter at the end of the year.

I do not give goblin stamps, or 'merchant' other chapters reps for multiple reasons. But I do send them back, most of the reps i have to send back are from being stolen in game by NPCs, or lost to deaths, etc.

Only the "home" chapter will have the list of IG values for items.

I have always kept the rep. It is still and IG item and IG your character still has it and it has an IG value, you can do what you please with it. Like others suggested, you can hand it in to the chapter that owns it. Its one less item rep that they would need to get. As for the tag, in HQ Scott has always accepted the expired tags, but again that's chapter specific.

When players sell expired items at Logistics I return the item to Scott. The tag is cut up then thrown in the trash, basically like any other used tag.
