They're out there, but I'm not gonna help you find them!

I should note that my support of Israel apparently does not jive with current "liberal" thought, as evidenced by arguments I am having on the political board I frequent. I can't figure out why liberals should be supporting the terrorists over the democratic country.

Probobly because of a sence that both countrys are handeling things poorly, not just one or the other, so picking sides feels icky either way. I support isolationist policy on matters like this one because of the reprocussions that choosing a side can have.

Being gung ho and saying that one side or the other is necessarily right or wrong based only on which country is closer to a democracy(republic), seems like a bad choice to a lot of people.

Also saying that it is a democratic nation Vrs. terrorists is sort of wrong when you consider the total number of terrorist deaths is nowhere near the number of innocent civilians killed.

This isnt the place for debate though, I was only answering your question of why(though Im not really Democrat). I do not really have an opinion on the matter aside from isolationism.

Being against one thing does not tacitly mean you are for the other thing. I don't support the actions of the radical extremists within the Palestinian people, but I do not condone Isreal's indiscriminate military strikes in return. I would far rather see a UN peacekeeping force go in, disarm the whole lot of the nation of Palestine, and then put a UN peacekeeping force there to insure it's sovereignty much like what was done with Japan after WW2, but on a smaller scale, until this last generation dies out and the next one can be raised outside of this atmosphere of perpetual hate if such a thing is even possible, which I can't really speak to not having any real conception of what it's like to be in that kind of a world so can't really stand on high and dictate "This is how you should feel about it all."
