This event was a whole bundle of fun. I couldn't make up my mind whether or not to come until the last minute, but I'm sure glad I did! The last SoMN event I attended was Dave's opener, and I was happy to see the growth that the chapter has had. It seems like there are a whole number of interesting plots and things going on, and many of the new PC's were awesome and I loved seeing so many new faces.
Friday night I apologize I had to ask people their names all night long but it was great to see such a well attended NPC camp. Seriously if the game can keep up that number of NPC's it will help worlds. My favorite thing was getting to play one of the snake like creatures that couldn't talk or understand the players and trying to get across and know I got across a story to one of them. I also enjoyed showing up at the end of the cave moss battle as the "tenders" of the cave and just getting owned in the face (even literally
) by all the lower levels. Well done.
Saturday the towns slow careful push into Undead territory and then when playing the lieutenant having the town just shut me down. Whoever cast that silence made a very wise choice!
It wasn't exactly a favorite to lie on the ground for a
hour while everyone took their sweet sweet time to finally rift back into Gaden, but it was funny to hear all the conversation, and kinda cool to hear oog Hengin's resurrection story. And then when the rift finally did happen the RP with everyone was great, I really love that.
Having so many people who were willing to help me out getting my sword "attuned" so that I wouldn't be uncomfortable in the sun was awesome. Plus that fight was just strait up bad ***! Big thanks to the NPC's and PC's as well. I was sure glad we didn't have to use the emergency CoP (if only for the Biata with us) but we almost did! RP with many many of the townsfolk was really fun. Hengin, Fern, Drezz, The Elf guy I Poisoned (can't remember name), and of course Kovu and Panda. I'm sure I've missed names, but I really enjoyed seeing the town how it looks from the PC perspective and NPC perspective
Things were rough Saturday night, but thankfully we were at least able to save most of the people that the corrupt killed because the town was too spread out. Knowing how close some of the dead folks were to resurrecting makes me really glad Kovu and I ran!
And of course thanks for the one man mod from Steven getting the fire creatures blood, and then opening a door to find some constructs and... another door. That was cool, all the player initiated things that were done felt very fun.
We'll see if any of the 1 day events or events next spring work out, but everyone have a great off season until then!
