Fighter's Practice/Gameday Info - Bellingham

Due to an increased amount of interest from prospective new players in the Bellingham area, we've decided to host a number of Fighter's Practices and a few satellite Gamedays closer to these northern folk. The following information is tentative both in location and date, but stay tuned, more will be added to this list as we go:

Saturday, August 29th at Whatcom Falls Park, West Entrance: Fighter's Practice. ~11am - ~4pm.

Saturday, September 19th at Squires Lake Park: Gameday. ~11am - ~4pm.

The plan is to have about 2 Fighter's Practices, then 2+ Gamedays. These are currently intended to take place every 2-3 weeks or so, with some space given to Alliance Oregon, Alliance Seattle, and Devia events.

A Fighter's Practice is a chance to spar and learn the rules. Generally, a Fighter's Practice will begin with an introduction to the rules and the combat system, followed by a few ditch battles, then generally a series team-based scenarios. These activities are designed to help people learn the rules and try out character concepts. Weapon-building, costume-making, character-designing and other new player assistance/advice sessions are also common. Costumes and makeup are not required at a fighter's practice, though any weapons/shields you may want to use/loan to newbies are certainly helpful.
We will be awarding 10 goblin points to attendees, which we will double for anyone who brings a new player.

The Gamedays will not be run by the primary plot team and will primarily be self-contained as a series. The will be scaled for low (1-5) level characters, regardless of who shows up, as they are intended to accommodate new players. At this time there are no plans to enforce a level cap, but we'd appreciate that if you attend as experienced player that you either bring a low-level secondary (or tertiary, or quaternary) PC or that you NPC (we always need NPCs!). It is necessary that you inform the Logistics team that you intend to PC by the Tuesday preceding the Gameday, otherwise we will not have your character card. If you wish to PC and miss the deadline, we will accept character cards from a previous game, but you won’t be able to use any skills that are not on the card you provide.
Prices for Gamedays are $10 to PC, free to NPC.

More games/practices will be added as they are scheduled.
