Food for the Holiday one Day

My- I always seem to start food conversations as of late----:)

Ok so let's start a food sign up and planning.

For sure there will be Christmas Tacos- which I learned are Tacos on festive plates lol

We will provide:

Meat (likely chicken and ground beef)(Paul and Annette)
Flour Tortillas

We will need side items-
-cilantro lime rice (Daphne)
-chips and salsa (acquired)
-soda & other drinks (14 - 2 liters- 7 coke, 2 diet coke, 2 sprite, 2 Mountain Dew, 1 Diet Dr Pepper) .
-Cheese (Brian)
-Lettuce (Ranee)
-Chopped Onion (Victoria)
-Sour Cream (Victoria)
-Veggie Tray (Emily)
-Plates & Napkins (acquired)
-Red Solo Cups :) (j/k any cup will do) (acquired )
-Corn Shells (Daphne)
-Desserts? (cookies by Emily)(Pumpkin goodness by Daphne)(slutty brownies)
-Any other hand snacks (Maybe Chex Mix by Victoria)
-Chips & Cheese (Ranee)
-Refied Beans (Ranee)
Other things....

Anything you might want to add to this little feast. We (Nette, Nate, Paul, & Rob) will be happy to host but could sure use a bit of help to make this food stretch.

Maybe I can get some help- ? Sorry battling Bronchitis makes me slightly --- disorientated lol

I can bring cookies and a veggie tray. Any preference to the cookies?

I have an allergy to both MSG and caramel coloring. If both of those could be avoided that would be great.

Thanks,
Amanda

I can try to bring the sour cream and chopped onion. :) And IF i make more Chex mix I will share. its better when made at home and there's no guessing as to what's in it.

(The irony is the onion allergy)

Amanda,

I'll send you a list of ingredients I intend to use to make taco meat so you can tell me if there's MSG in there.

I will likely make the "spices" myself since almost all of the flavor packets include MSG or food coloring of some sort.

Victoria,

It would be very appreciated if you would bring all of that. I'll add it to the list if you confirm.

Thanks all,

Paul

Paul,

Sure, Sour Cream, Onion, and Maybe home made chex mix. Does it matter how the onion is chopped? I am guessing small taco topable pieces unless someone wants big bits. Let me know. :)

I do have some no MSG taco seasoning. But for being mild it is a bit spicy.

still plenty of stuff on this list. If you want a discount on your event, and not to mention to keep Nate, Annette, and I from going broke. :) Please let us know soon.

Thanks,

Paul

Ok. Raising the food ante. I'm also bringing Cilantro Lime Rice. I have some Hard shells I can bring too.

Ok ya all- I need to plan and budget---please please please-- if you are gonna bring something say so - pay less of a a game fee and help us out:-)

I will be doing my last store run Thursday, so please try and sign up to bring good by then:-)

Thank you!

Annette

Ok that's a really long list and I'm not sure what is left that is needed. What food items are still needed for festive tacos and/or sides? Seamus and/or I will likely make some sort of dessert too but I'd like to help out with the regular food too. :D

Emily,

Cheese is good... :)

Ranee,

The list has been kept up to date so anything that hasn't been vouched for. Some ideas we still need: Shredded lettuce, corn shells (if anyone likes those), Flour Tortillas.

Off list items you could think off: Rice, beans, rice&beans...or anything else thats vaguely tex mex that you like to eat...like guacamole.

Thanks,

Paul

Sounds good to me! I'll grab hard and soft shells along with the shredded lettuce. I'll probably pick up a side or two also. Definitely picking up chips and cheese and since I know some people like salsa I'll grab a mild salsa too. I may bring some sort of secondary main dish if that is alright with the hosts since Seamus doesn't really like tacos. I'll double check with him about it; he may be willing to eat tacos this once. :P If he does prefer a different main meal, I'll post up what we decide to bring. :D Oh, I'll be grabbing some 2 liters, too, namely what I know Seamus, Thomas, and I drink, Cherry Coke Zero for Seamus, Dr. Pepper for Thomas, and likely some sort of root beer for me. Since it looks like the sodas still need to be grabbed, I can grab the ones listed also.

Any other food people can think of that they want, just let me know and I can pick it up tomorrow.

Thanks,
Ranee

PS BTW if it's not obvious, I'm picking up all this food for Seamus, Thomas, and I to split as donations to the potluck. :)

The sodas listed are what we currently have:-)

We also have chips and salsa :-)

Ah good to know about the sodas. Then I'll just pick up the extra 2 liters that I mentioned. :) I have been reminded by Daphne that she is bringing hard shells so I'll be grabbing the soft shells. Also Daphne has already requested I bring refried beans. I don't like them but I'm sure others do so that's been added to my list. Thanks for reminding me the chips and salsa have already been acquired so I'll just grab chips and cheese. Can never have too many chips. :D

sounds fabulous... :) I like your thinking on Chips and Cheese. :P
