Adventurers’ Manifesto
What is an adventurer? Champion or Conqueror? Protector or Destroyer? Respectful or Defiant? We all are of these things and more. King Eisenhorn wishes to outlaw such people from his lands without a single mention of what exactly makes an adventurer. As always, we will help the crown, with this manifesto, to clarify.
The Champion- Adventurers are champions who move dauntlessly towards danger. They stand and face their adversaries with courage and conviction. Whether they are using sword, bow, or wand; these heroes use their superior skills to dismantle their foes. They do all this because it must be done. Good must keep evil at bay.
The Conqueror- We are the villains to every savage goblin horde; the bane of any warlord who dares gaze his sunken eyes upon these lands. Beasts and all manner of immoral wicked creatures fear our ruthless justice.
The Protector- Adventurers are the ones who protect people from the horrors of the night. They heal the sick and weary and repair the lands themselves. They bleed into the earth to make the crops grow that feed the people. They stand, shield ready, to block any evil attack that looks to attack fair lady Wayside.
The Destroyer- Adventurers destroy the overwhelming evils from the land. Any undead or various perversions of nature fear our blades. Other worldly horrors such as elementals or mischievous fae know that this realm is protected and free.
Respectful- Adventurers respect the land and its people. They cooperate with the lords and knights. They are the ones who ensure the people’s freedom and happiness. They breath blows the change in the land for the better.
Defiant- Adventurers defy death and destruction a thousand fold. They endure countless deaths to ensure the people don’t experience a single one. They continue to fight knowing that their struggle will never truly end. Adventurers’ hands pull the people and the land from darkness to light. No matter what the odds, no matter how broken, scared, or shaken; they endure.
We cannot find fault in fear of this adventuring life- it is a hellish life, but one that allows all others of this land, truly live.
We will not let the people live in fear- we will face the horrors of the Mad King to save the people who look to us to breathe life into their lives. A King who has lost his way. We will be a champion to those that suffer from his decisions. We will conquer all he sends in our way. We will protect the lands he salts and ravishes. We will destroy the abominations he chooses to consort with. We will respect the people’s land and life to ensure they are kept away from this violence. We will defy all attempts to be stopped.
You too, can embody the spirit of the adventurer, the paragon of freedom and right within this land and the true voice of the people. Make the King rightfully fear the people again. They demand answers for his crimes."
