Fox about town

[Zephyra]

Kai heads to the portal area of the arcane sanctum. She finds a messenger and they have a brief conversation. She leaves them with a short list and a pouch of coins.

Afterwards, she heads to the firepit. She roots around in the woodshed, looking over the scraps of wood that people have dumped from various projects. She selects one, and tucking it under her arm, heads for her alchemy workshop where she spends the next several hours.

Kai is still locked in her workshop. Whatever she's doing in there, she's apparently taking her sweet time with it.

Kai finally exits her workshop, the board from before wrapped in cloth and again carried under her arm. She heads to the sanctum, where her messenger has just arrived with a package.

Taking the package, she peeks inside the paper wrapping. The foxkin must be quite pleased at what she sees, as she tips the messenger an additional gold, before heading across town again.

Kai heads for the place where Phaesos was killed. While the exact place is sheltered by a mass of roots and plant life, she finds an appropriate spot on the edge of the cocoon.

She sets down the board and bundle and starts unwrapping. She pulls the cloth free from the wood, revealing a hand-made painting of a balanced tree of life. She sets it standing upright against a small but vigorous looking shrub. She next unwraps the crinkly paper bundle, arranging a dozen white roses and a dozen pink and orange lillies around the painting. She stands and says a few quiet words, too low to overhear, and turns back towards town.
