I'm generally not inclined to go to game-days because I don't consider them to be Nero.
However, given that information I would go to a game-day to support the chapter if one of the first two (on the list above) were being done and the game day content had very little (if any) relation to the overall campaign that runs at events.

I chose RP.
Basically, if I am able to show up as a PC I would like a reason for him to be there. He could be there as a diplomat on behalf of someone, or he could have been sent to investigate a dungeon, or whatever. As long as the character has an RP reason to be there the rest really doesn't matter to me. Whether it is nothing but combat or nothing but communication, either would make me happy.
Althought, honestly, I think I need to start getting more involved in gamedays before I can come to a full conclusion. I have only been to two game days and those were several years ago. I have wanted to go, but RL generally gets in the way.
