And give your reasons!

I am so sorry Heidi and I didn't make it. She was feeling really bad this week, and we showed up to set up the Healers Guild and the tavern, but then went back home. She has good days and bad, and this was a bad weekend... and I stayed with her to help her out (and if I had gone to play, she would have felt really lonely and sad I think). So please let me know what happened!!!

And someone post pictures!

I had SUCH a great time!

It was cool to see the NPCs I met at Nationals go as PCs, meet some new people, and hang out with a few that I already knew.

GREAT mods (fishing? hells yeah!)

... I guess the only "issue" was that some of the big battles were down by the stream. It's a great location (and definately added to the sense of fear), but it was difficult to get down there in the middle of the night, and I know that it dissuaded some people from participating all together.

Other than that, I LOVED it!!!!!

It was a pretty good event. There were a few times where I'd be actively looking for something and nothing (that would take me) would be going out at the time. Other than that it was fun. A good amount of more role-play solution mods, (fishing and herding.) There were, generally however, a huge amount of mods. There weren't so much the crunchies, and after a while I got disencouraged from hunting in the woods, but we had plenty of fun mods.

I give the event a C, I was expecting it to be a bit more deadly for the lowbies, or even more expensive with Search and Steal Active on the kobolds. I would have to say that between the Protection aura 3 and then amount of tusk shields out there, the event seemed non-threatening. I'm not sure how many life spells actually got used but I know one got used in a honor combat, and if we had resources to screw around like that well.. all I have to say is that it could have been a bit more scarier.

This is not to say I didn't enjoy the event. But I personally felt that there was a bit lacking. I was one of the Tusk Shields and THANK YOU so very much for sending out some Tusk Plot. At the same time, just Kobolds got to be a lot of running around. The plot of Wayday was alright, but I personally felt it didn't drive anything. There wasn't a mission or purpose really, other than to just kill Kobolds. There wasn't any real problem to figure out.(except who was Love 9ing everyone) I didn't feel mentally challenged. Now as an Orc, I'm not sure how much mental challenge could be handled, but there were plently non-orcs.

Now I did have a good time, but much of that was PC roleplay. I'm in the middle about the threat level. I realize that much of the weekend was scaled perfect as far as being appropriate, but with the player skill level of the PCs it might have been possible to handle a bit more. I can understand the hesitation, not wanted to goof and kill everyone.

Overall I had a great time, just would have liked to have seen a more thoughline plot. An objective or goal so to speak. I felt like this was not clearly defined this event.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying go out and kill everyone but I think a level of threat would have been higher if the kobolds were trying to steal things.

That's honestly the first time I've ever heard that. I've been told over and over again (more times than I care to recall) that search and steal completely hoses lowbies and ruins people's fun. So we intentionally didn't do it.

I personally agree and feel that there should be some degree of fear in losing your stuff. But it can really kill somebody's weekend if the chosen target doesn't have anything other than what's on them when they get hit.

How do other folks feel?

Stealing someone stuff can ruin there fun and the fun of there whole team. In Nj i was called search and steal Tim for about a year. People got really Fing pissed in and out of game when it kept going out every event. Its very easy to roll someone in the dark and run away with there stuff befor anyone can stop it. Also when npcs to it they dont have half the problems that pcs do stealing and getting away with it. ( They dont have to play with the same people every event at the same IG place).

This is not to say that it should never go out, but if you dont want a nicname following you around be sparing with it.

PS Shatters are just as good at getting coin to the crafters. If that is what you are looking for there Melleth. ;)

I gave the event an A-. I always had plenty to do and the mods were a lot of fun. The weekend had plenty of PvP and PC roleplay, both which make for a more in-depth and awesome world. The things I would have liked more were more variety of crunchy ln the loop. I understand that more crunchies equaled more resources drained, but if they were on the loop then the resource drain would have been voluntary.

The PvP was interesting and I hope no hard feelings were engendered out of game from some of the pretty harsh things I said. The Love 9 and I had a love/hate relationship and there were some pretty brilliant things that came from it, which I'll throw up in the favorites thread. As for the effect itself I roleplayed it as hard and as entertainingly as I could to which both Marissa and Amelia were incredible sports about it all. I hope the Rules Committee take a hard look at the effect itself though. It seems innocuous and fun on paper, but when it came to its actual implementation it garnered its share of OOG issues. After that first 24 hour period its novelty quickly vanished and I found myself hitting the loop alone Slayer style to rez in a glorious last stand. For the success of that see above on the number of crunchies on the loop.

All in all, its was action packed, heart pounding and a true to form Alliance weekend. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

I had fun, definitely. But the weekend didn't really have a purpose or a conclusion. I kind of felt like I was in a washing machine with a dozen kobolds. There were some roleplay encounters out there (Zephrose's Menagerie was made of win) but not many. I was kept busy, so maybe I just didn't see it.
PvP was awesome. I loved trying to piece together the mystery, and being completely stumped because of the sheer illogic of it all.
I came down with a case of stupid this weekend, and I'm trying not to let my frustration with myself influence my grading. I had a great time. Thank you, all!

lol I wasn't looking at getting coin to the crafters, I would have to say the biggest reason people started hanging out in groups is not because of the kobolds and the waylay's but because of the love 9's.

i have to agree with this, for two reasons: 1) its bacically a kolbolt weekend and u kno it in and out of game so if ur stupid enuf to go down with something valuable then i say have fun trying to find it. 2) not just on the search and steel part, but with the "I was expecting it to be a bit more deadly for the lowbies" part, yes everything was scaled well but it seemed like... and im trying to make this sound the right way.... but that because we were a lobie event we had alot of "little kid" or random things hapining. yes i understand you put this all together last minute, but for example why all of a suden were we fighting some dominion with out any kind of talking first or explanation of why they were there jus there in that small force? and also why were we trying to save a little dog instead of say fighting off elamentals or some crazy being in unsterty enviornments. now dont get me wrong im not bashing your mod ideas cuz i thought they were fun and well done, but i think there could have been more scary instances or deadly delemas...

I don't know... It was a low-level event. Low. Level. I didn't really expect it to be like the Vampire event or anything super intimidating. I think what a lot of people who are expressing a lack of continual plot line (and a general feeling of randomness overall) are failing to think about is the fact that most of the people who normally NPC the roles that bring us those weekend long tie-ins and continual story lines were actually PC'ing and unable to do so this time around. I'm sure that there are a lot of higher level people who were unable to be there (because they were too high) that probably made it harder for any existing plot line to really be carried over. But I don't know. Honestly, being still kind of new to the game, I can say that it was nice to just have an event where I could actually do something other than hide in whatever warded building/area I was invested in because I'm too small to do anything else. Like I said, it was a low-level event and I'm sure the main goal of the weekend was just for the all the lowbies and newbs to just have fun and not really have to worry about dying because they are too small.

Just my thoughts.

I had a lot of fun. It was a very low-stress weekend. (Other than trying to keep warm at night.) Thanks again to Plot and NPC's for taking the time to do it. :D

i won't answer for plot because i am not plot. but... one thing i always notice when i npc is... there is more plot happening than PCs know about because PC rush to kill everything. this happened many many times this weekend. there were RP elements out there that could have tied things together (example: that wasn't dominion... that was UNDEAD dominion.. you know.. because the last event had a crap ton of dominion that had died...) but many times we never had a chance to RP them because we were too busy dying.

::shrug::

The other killing issue came with the fact that most of the times the tusks don't bother to ask...they just kill it. talk is a waste...die now!

I am going with an A. Ultimately, I think everyone had a great time on both sides and in my book that's all that matters.

I have to agree with Rob when saying that you guys missed a bunch of plot items because you just killed everything insight.

The other tough thing with this event was that there were only 10 or so of us on the NPC side with at least 4 sick people. I don't think there was ever more then a 10 minute time period where 5+ people were togther getting ready to go right back out. Certainly this isn't the lowest ratio ever, but if we could get closer to 50/50 npcs to pcs I think we would have some tougher battles. If we want more in depth plot, bigger battles, or more crunchies out in the loop more of us need to jump over to the darkside now and again. My friends and I included.

I do agree that we were too easy on the PCs. We were appropriately leveled, but I think based on the skill and experience of the players we should have been tougher. Good learning experience and something easily changed for next time.

On the plus side I think that there was some great roleplaying by the PCs. When they were involved with NPCs they made it very easy for us to make it fun. This was my first time being some bigger bads and having some hook roles and I felt very good about the interactions.

Thanks for a great weekend!
