Hangin' it up.

Well, there comes a time in every mercenary's life when ye've taken one too many close calls, lost too many friends, an worn too much leather and flesh off trampin' all over creation ta follow tha wars. Mine's been and gone, and come back 'round again, so 'tis time ta rack tha armor an take up peaceful pursuits.

This doesnae mean I'll not be in Briarpass, though. Seems tha local tavern's been needin' a cook, so this market day'll be somethin' in tha nature o' a trial. I'll be servin' food an drink on hours a bit more suited to tha adventurin' lifestyle, namely all hours day an night.

Many've you've eaten at m' table before, but if not, come an put it to tha test, an let me know yer honest thoughts. There'll be cards an dice fer those of a gamblin' set, and I'll also have a few odds and ends o' adventurin' gear I've picked up over tha years an am tired o' haulin fer sale.

Look fer menus around here as we get a bit closer an' I know how many folk're likely ta be in town!

Well, some of us come to our senses and become farmers and dhe rest of us press on because it's what we do.

Wish ya all dhe Luck in Fortannis, mon coeur.

Well, the basics are pretty well in the bag, assumin' tha farmer who's been keepin' m' vittles comes through.

Meatball subs, grilled cheese sarnies, and assorted pastries, trail rations, and fruit will be available at any time, less'n they run out. Breakfast Saturday is already set, as I'll be whippin' up some fresh biscuits and country-style gravy. After that's still waitin' ta hear what's planned.

Other'n that, cold tea and lemonade will be on hand. Free refills to anyone bringin' their own mug, as I've not got a large wagon and want ta keep tha baggage light as I can.

As far as what I've got to sell, it's just a few things that've built up over adventuring. Two strengthened polearms, a couple gallons of Cure Light Wounds, that sort of thing. Come chat if you're interested, just not during mealtimes, as I'll be a wee bit busy ta barter!

Master Padraig,

Vould you be against a Bard coming to sing a song or two at de tavern? I vould not require payment as I vould only accept anything dat de patrons might see fit to give to me if dey like de entertainment. I vould only ask for some floor space and your permisson. It has been said dat a good song or two is good fer buisness.

A bard... amongst other things.

Ye're more'n welcome by me. A bit o' song's almost always worth hearin'.

Padraig, my much beloved cousin:

I am glad to hear of your return to our lands, though I am sad you will not be adventuring.

Perhaps I will be able to coax you out on an adventure or two, for old time's sake. :)

We've much to speak of, I will be sure to find you as soon as my affairs are settled this next market day. It should be relatively early.

Do you need a hand settling in?

All should be well. I've a wagonload of supplies ta haul in, but I'll be in Briarpass in good time. One benefit o' not haulin' armor anymore is takin' tha easy way into town.
