Unto Members and Aspirants of the Healer's Guild of Acarthia, New Acarthia Guildhall, does Finbarr Briansson, Assistant Guildmaster of the Guildhall send greetings.

In an effort to better inform both new Members and Aspirants of the moral expectations that the Healer's Guild holds its members to, contained herein is the Code of Conduct for the Healer's Guild of Acarthia.

I, as a Healer and a Member of the Healer's Guild of Acarthia, hereby pledge:

* To seek to minimize suffering, harming only when there is need, and allowing no living thing to linger in agony for any longer than is necessary.
* To not discriminate, in the giving of healing or resurrection, on any irrelevant basis, including but not limited to race, sex, or the ability to pay and to not refuse resurrecting a spirit for any personal cause.
* To never falsely advertise my skills and capability and to never enter a home under false pretenses.
* To support and aid the Guild in times of need and to keep safe the magical teachings of the Guild from those who cannot be trusted to uphold its ethics.
* Respect other members of the Healer's Guild, addressing them by proper rank and title and not disguising the truth from them.
* To act for the good of society and strive to keep to the laws of the land.
* To abhor Chaos in all its forms, never using it, never counseling its use, and actively seeking to destroy its manifestations.

If I fulfill this path and do not violate it, may I enjoy life and art and be honored for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of this be my lot.
New Members are expected to abide by these tenets and recite them as an oath upon attaining full Guildmember status.

Please let Guildmistress Misty Parjan or I know if you have any questions.
