Howdy, I have a question...

I currently play Alliance NJ and some of us heard recently that in New Hampshire some of you peeps are making latex weapons on your own! Many of us at the smokers pit looked at one another with blank expressions as we almost could not believe this news. Looking at the prices of some of the latex online one would think that it is a rather hard process or extremely costly (being that some weapons can cost up to $150+). So I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how to give this a shot myself? Where does one get materials, is it more cost effective to do yourself? As the Alliance turns from the old plumbing weapons to the more realistic latex, I just wonder if it is not more cost effective to make them rather than buy them.

Any input would be much appreciated!

Thank you! :D

Hello Matt,

I’ve been experimenting with latex weapon making since just before we voted to let chapters use them.

There are lots of different ways to go about it, but every single method has drawbacks on either weight, durability, cost or aesthetics. I could tell you all the different things I've tried, but I honestly think it would be better to just buy some materials and screw around until you make something that works for you.
I started off looking at youtube videos, and some of those were helpful, mostly for ideas on what to buy.

But just to be clear, making your own latex weapons is not cheaper than buying them, at least, not initially. I build them because I like making custom weapons. If I was looking to save money I’d just buy a solid, simple, latex weapon. Forgotten Dreams are okay, but a little pricey. You could also buy a Palnatoke from this dude:

He gets great deals and that brand is hands down the best all around latex weapons I’ve dealt with. I plan on buying a couple more this winter.

PS If you still want to give latex weapon making a try shoot me a PM. I’d be happy to help steer you clear of any major pitfalls.
