IBGA Information

We have created a new plot e-mail where you can send IBGAs. waysideIBGAs(at)gmail.com

IBGA stands for "In Between Game Action", meaning it is what your character does in between each market day.

IBGAs can be useful for finding out more information on a subject your character is interested in, also finding more information about a specific plot line, or pursuing some greater goal of your character.
Craftsman skills will be taken into account as to how successful or how well you can do some actions. In addition, other character skills can impact your IBGAs.

IBGAs also let you think more about what your character does on a day to day basis, allowing you to delve deeper into your character.

Lastly, not specifically an IBGA, but helpful for plot to know, is what plots and NPCs you interacted with last game, and what you would like to see happen with your interactions with the afore mentioned. It does not need to be a complete list, just what you were interested in and wanted to follow up on.
This helps us remember the smaller details in a game and enables us to make a more dynamic game world.

Ultimately, IBGAs and this e-mail is there for players to tell plot what they are interested in and what their character wants to do or see. Often modules or plots could come from sending in IBGAs and plot requests.

If you want to be really helpful, and would be greatly appreciated, you can fill out a Post Event Letter, the form is here -> viewtopic.php?f=61&t=204

Bump for 2012.

Is there a IBGA submission deadline following the completion of an event?

-Ryan

As soon as possible, no later then two weeks before an event.
And if you turn one in late it is less likely to be taken into account when writing plot.

Please remember, just talking to a plot member, or chatting with them through text is NOT an IBGAs and will NOT be considered for plot decisions.
In Game PM's when appropriate can be considered. But don't not consider this an substitute for an actual IBGA.
Thank You.

Its especially important for this event that we know soon where your character is staying and if you are participating in the war effort as the war's tide will ebb and flow between events based largely on decisions and actions of the PCs. If you are watching/guarding an area...let us know or you might be having to fight to take it back. You also may get mods, , information and plot based on where you spend your between events time.

If you don't know what to say just put 'Working for free at the Azure Keep'

You know you miss your slaves...

Plot would like to see your back stories if you have them written.
If you have not written one, consider writing one and sending it into waysideIBGAs@gmail.com.

A good back story will have unanswered questions that plot can grab onto to form possible stories for your character, it can also contain certain tendencies or triggers for what your character might care about.
Also, simple and short are not bad attributes for a back story either.
If you are a long term player and have felt like your back story has been resolved, or if your back story is such that their is not much likelihood of it coming up, please still send it to plot, so that plot has an idea of where your character came from, and what you are trying to RP or accomplish with him/her.
Also, if you are ambitious you can give us an account of your characters adventures up to this point so we know what you have been involved in and what you have seen.

Plot may use your back story in it's story telling, but it is not guaranteed. We will attempt to take into account each person back story, but often the sheer logistics and time limits makes this impractical. So it may take some time before a character's back story comes into play.

A good reference for tips on writing a good back story can be found oin Southern Minnesota's Players Handbook, on page 6. Found here.

Thank you.
