IvanDrake

Prodigy
Okay, once again Scott and Dee Kondrk are PCing the next event. In addition, I believe Heidi Hooper will be PCing as well. Just like the last event, please, please, please do not bother them with Faire Play or site related issues during the event. I will be available for the entire event (even if/when I am playing Ivan's dead body) to handle any and all Faire Play questions or issues.

All of the Faire Play staff work very hard to make our game and site better, so let's give them the chance to enjoy it!

Thank you!

I think it's fantastic that they are finally getting to do this. I hope they have a great time. Eric, you're the man for helping out so much and letting the other faireplayers have some fun.

Making comments like, "THE TAVERN IS ON FIRE!" to distact Scott long enough to waylay and rob him is fair game though, right?

Yep!

Though I think Find'rth (sic?) wouldn't be distracted by this. He'd probably reply with a shrug.

Thanks, Rob. But there are a lot of others who have sacrificed PCing more than I have. As HoP, Michelle rarely gets to PC (and subsequently, nor does Ali). I don't think I've ever seen Toddo as a PC. And despite playing the game since the early 1990's, I've never seen Mike V. as a PC.

I'll be there NPCing as usual so you can bug me too, but Heidi and I are leaving on Saturday night so won't be there to help clean up on Sunday.

Believe it or not, that's the biggest problem. Usually it's just me, Heidi, Scott and Dee there late on Sunday doing all the last minute clean up. I know everyone wants to go out and eat and then get home, but so do we. Please stick around on Sunday and help with the clean-up!!!

Or better yet, let's just not make a big mess to start with. :)

Last event the NPCs were AWESOME at cleaning up in little bits throughout the weekend - hanging up costuming (or tossing it in the hamper if it was too dirty), putting props and weapons back in their proper bins/racks... so by Sunday there wasn't much of a mess in NPC camp, just putting away the stuff used in the last battle and some little bits here and there. If everybody could do the same thing site-wide, Sunday would be a breeze.

Hey Scott and Mike, am I allowed to do "random acts of gobbies" if I catch people cleaning throughout the weekend? (PC and NPC)

I think the PC's did a pretty good job of pitching in and sweeping and cleaning up last event too. I know some people have longer drives than others and it's been said before, even just 5 minutes from a lot of people helps so much. There were at least six of us cleaning dishes last time and it went so much faster.

There are a few tasks that always we need help with at the very end that people sometimes forget about:

1. Cleaning up NPC camp and moving all the stuff back into the NPC room
2. Doing the dishes and cleaning out the refrigerator
3. Putting all the garbage in big bags and making sure the recycling is separated
4. Taking the recycling to the recycling center down the road

#3 is a big pain because many people toss all their garbage together, including recycling. Worse yet, they toss their garbage and pizza boxes and cans and crap in the box Scott built for garbage.

Here's why this is bad: We get charged per bag. This is not a dumpster! The garbage pick up guys come by and take each bag and charge us for them, and leave behind the pizza boxes and small bags that you guys throw in there. And then we have to climb in the box later and clean all that crap up.

So it's important to (a) put your garbage in the big bags and (b) separate the recycling because that means less bags and less costs for us.

And the less we have to spend on stuff like garbage and cleaning up after players, the more we can spend on fixing up the site.

Do you need a Recyle Garbage Can for the bin Mike?

I can pick one up from Home Depot and bring that up with me for event.
Send me a PM and let me know.

we have garbage cans specifically marked for recycling already behind the bar and in NPC camp. People just need to use them! ;)
