In-Game location Next Event

Greetings HQ Players

If you were not at the last event or didn't see the in-game post you might not be aware of the set up for this coming event. The May event does NOT take place in Fairdale in-game. Of course out-of-game we will still be at the Faireplay site. So why does this matter OOG?

1- The guilds
In this location there will be other guilds/guild heads and corresponding circles. As of now no PCs are invested in these circles.

2- Labs and Forges
If you own a lab or forge in Fairdale you will not have access to it at this event. You may buy another in Evorra if you wish.

3-LCO Items
HQ LCO items DO travel here. Remember those are based on the chapter, not the in-game location, and as such you can continue to use these as normal.

So please remember not to go walking through circles, and plan accordingly when it comes to your prodution batches. If you have any questions please let us know!

are there any things we need to know IG about the area we will be staying at for the first night?

examples:

what is the tavern? is it a tavern? what's it's name?

do the cabins mysteriously have the same names or do we jsut consider those OOG for purposes of identifying the structures for pre-reg?

does baron ivan really own real estate in Evorra that is exactly the same as his real estate in icenia?

what is the area beyond the creek called IG or is it all a part of Thandor/Martingale?

will we see new rumor sheets or do the same rumors exist in both locations?

>>It will be an Inn/Tavern that the Evorrans have basically converted to a base of operations for the adventurers

do the cabins mysteriously have the same names or do we jsut consider those OOG for purposes of identifying the structures for pre-reg?

>>Those are largely OOG so people know where to put their stuff but it doesn't matter much if they trickle IG

does baron ivan really own real estate in Evorra that is exactly the same as his real estate in icenia?

>>You mean his cabin? Let's say it's nicer facilities that he's renting for this

what is the area beyond the creek called IG or is it all a part of Thandor/Martingale?

>>It's all part of the same town. It's not a border the way it is for Fairdale. However since this is supposed to be a coastal town there may be parts of the weekend where that area is used to represent the shoreline. You will be given descriptions as appropriate.

You'll get shiny new rumors. :)

Ivan is apparently renting a chateau complete with stables and servants because that's how he rolls. He will be featured on the next season of "Medieval Cribs."

Eric,

Is there anyway I can NPC as one of your horses at an upcoming event? you could lead me around town while you talk about noble stuff, I'll eat grass, you can even tie me to a post and leave me there in the rain. I just feel like that could be the greatest role I will ever get to play...

Heidi and I will be running the tavern for the next event as NPCs, but we could use volunteers to work the late night shift, because we're both old and like to sleep. ;)

So if there are any NPCs who don't like being out after dark or otherwise wish to have down time, let us know. Or, alternatively, if someone is reading this who couldn't afford to play but didn't want to NPC an active fighting role but would like to work the tavern also let us know!

Mike,

My girlfriend will be NPC'ing this event for the first time, and has actually expressed interest in being in such a role for a portion of the game to be able to better observe how everything happens. However, my nickname for her is "Hardcore," so who knows what she might bring to the battlefield! :D

I hate to take NPCs from the battlefield, which is always more important than tavern work. I mean, having a tavern running late at night is cool, but a waste of NPCs if you're really low and need them on the field.

But if she (or someone else) doesn't want to fight late at night, then my offer is open!

And also: if anyone wants to make some game money, since Balls is not selling hamburgers from the tavern, let me know if you want to. You MUST do it for game money only and MUST clean up after yourself.

Ahem, Dave's girlfriend here.
I can be up to the challenge of being an all-purpose NPC.
I know I can count on Dave to ready my boffer skills. I will fight them, then I will feed them.
Wicked and merry,
Laura (Soon to be known as Alexa)

Where did you find her Dave? I like her already.

She's rather special. :D I don't know that I can reveal the origins of my wonderful discovery, but I will allow you to appreciate her contributions to the game, at least a few times a year... ;)

He found her in the lab, surrounded by petri dishes and parasites.

Seriously.

Can I get the address of that lab? I need to...make sure there are no hazardous materials left! Yeah! You know, for the children.

So, you are looking for NPC volunteers and not to pay IG a PC to do this? Shucks.. : /

Thank you all (even Robb) for the warm reception. I've reviewed much of the player handbook and was feeling a little overwhelmed. I'm really looking forward to NPC'ing this event. I hope to better understand the overall concept so I can create a character that will intriguing and cohesive. I'll take this opportunity to fill in the personal points. While I do find myself in a lab surrounded by petri dishes and parasites, it is not often that I am discovered there by others. Although if anyone would venture our way, they'd probably be a ranger...or just lost while looking for the cafeteria. We are probably more toxic to the children than the cafeteria food. Also, It sounds ever so slightly more romantic than mail order.
I can't wait to meet you and see Robb act the part of Eric's horse (pending Amanda's approval).

Be well,
Laura
