"into the Wild"

  • Into the Wild is a 2007 Golden Globe-winning, Academy Award-nominated film based on the 1996 non-fiction book of the same name by Jon Krakauer about the adventures of Christopher McCandless. It was directed by Sean Penn, who also wrote the screenplay, and stars Emile Hirsch, Jena Malone, Marcia Gay Harden, William Hurt and Catherine Keener. It was premiered during the second edition of the Rome Film Feast and a limited release was given on September 21, 2007, and a wide release on October 19 .

    Plot:
    Into the Wild tells the adventures of Christopher McCandless, a top student at Emory University and an athlete. After graduating, McCandless decides to give $24,000 of his savings account to Oxfam and later, to burn all the money in his wallet. He hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wild. During his adventure, he encounters several unique people that change his life before he faces the dangers of wilderness.
that gives the synopsis without revealing any surprises. it's a journey of self-discovery, of sorts
 
after watching this movie if anyone feels the need to have there character go off into the wild feel free to give me all there goodies (all non cursed ones) I will happly keep them away from tempting you and let you go out to seek the true meaning of life
I know the scafice I will make taking all the less inportan things like gold and magic is a hard one but if I must I must :)

i hope it comes out in dvd at blockbuster or a local store because I CANT DOWNLOAD!!! dernit...and he must have gone off into the wilderness in the western part of canada because honestly there's nothing but canooks for a good ways up north...walk across america was also quite cool...
 
Sean Penn. Sorry, his work may be great but he is a woman beater and anti-military.
 
i just watched the movie. it did come out on dvd at gagnon's yay...uhhh...I guess I was...confused a bit by the story? I think that the story itself had a lot of great moments but the end was uhhhh.....unneccessary?
 
no i meant what happened to the real guy in real life was unnecessary....i know its not fictional hun but....uhhh.....I guess I've read into what the actual circumstances were around the area where he was and what happened was unneccesary...he had some GREAT adventures though and he seemed to be totally fearless!! i did enjoy that part of him. I mean...i cant imagine just setting off with NOTHING and meeting people and changing their lives the way he did...that rocked

OH YEAH his life totally rocked!! I mean....just the whole thing with the older guy that wanted to adopt him. I ALMOST CRIED...its like he gave life back to someone who was ready to just sort turtle ya know?? And the funny scene where he's on the beach with the hippies and the hippy goes "you're not Jesus Christ are you?" I was blown away by that. He showed so much love to people that he didn't know and it was so Christlike ya know? I loved that part.
