Issues with the Scouts: Sheppard 10/10/10

That's right, it was 10/10/10 at the end of the event.
Anyways, as you no doubt noticed, we were double-booked with a cub scout group at Camp Sheppard. Our previous arrangement to have the site to ourselves was made with the previous Camp Director Pat, who dealt with all of the camp scheduling himself. When Sheppard switched Camp Directors, the way reservations were made changed. Now I talk to the central camping office rather than Sheppard themselves. The camping office talks to Sheppard to make sure the space is available, and then the site is booked. According to the camping office, Sheppard had enough space for both groups. Harrison was never informed of our arrangement to have the site to ourselves, and the Camping Office had always been out fo the loop. After talking to Harrison, he's agreed to the same arrangement as Pat, and we will both be talking to the camping office so that it doesn't happen again. Basically, our arrangement was an informal one that didn't get passed on to the new staff, to it really wasn't anyone's fault.

So far as the offensive scouts go, I'm logging a complaint with the Scouting office about the troop, and I'll see what happens with that. I appologize to anyone that had a negative experience with those scouts, their parents, and their leadership. Many of us have had plenty of good experiences with scouts in the past, and I hope that a few bad apples don't sour the image of scouts for everyone else.
