Hello Everyone,

In years past Jack-O-Lanterns if lit have repelled undead this time of year. I would suggest bringing one with you this next market day to place outside of your cabin or ward. They will not repel other creatures but, it is this time of years when ghouls, ghosts and other undead seem to have strength.

There is something about the magic in the air and these jack-o-lanterns, or to be more specific, the illumination of them do seem to repel spirits and other undead. The Guardians of the Light have been researching this for a long while, and are still unsure of how it comes into effect. It does only seem to last a few days before and after the end of the month. If anyone has more information regarding this phenomenon in other lands, that would be most grateful.

As far as phasing through wards, I believe spectral undead can not pass through wards, for if they could, we'd be in for many long nights.

Assuming the Duchal Council does not last until this time, I believe Duchess Fairfax and I will be attending this feast. It will be good to relax again.

I did not mention prior but, there are also three more creatures who appear during the harvest and we have good relations with.

Haley Halgrimson, she is a spirit of the season and trickery. She loves candy and sweets and is prone to tricks as well as treats. She is sweet and has large rosy cheeks and wears a jester's hat. Many of this land know her. I suggest keeping candy with you in case she appears.
The Gump-us, this is an enchanted and drunken haystack. He loves intoxicates and as long as you provide it with a drink it is your best friend.
The Pumpkin King, he is mercurial but, has helped our community several times. He prefers to trade in favors as fey tend to do.

I will try to carve one before the market gathers instead of under seige this time. That was a rather terrible ordeal.

NUHUN! I am not a spirit of the season! THATS BORING!?

I am a prim and proper lady just like my mother and father taught me, always respectful, timely, and pleasant. I always make my bed, help with the chores, and never ever stay up past my bedtime.

I would love, ever so much to be able to join you but hope that its not too late in the evening and I would hate to disappoint anyone.

Yes come out, and let me feed upon you Haley. I will devour all that you are, your fear lets me leech your very essence this time of year the veils so thin. Know I feed on spirits who dare cross the veil. There fear of what was lost and what could be lost is so delicious, When they cease to be it is even better. Makes my children stronger. And I am not even what she Fears....Mahh its so sweet the fear of the season, why did I ever sleep.
