July/August Event!

Alliance Seattle's next event is July 31-August 2nd at Camp Roganunda.

The fee schedule is a little different this time because the camp is a bit more expensive, but you've got some new options!

Here's the quick version:
PC:
$60 Pre-Pay and you get 30 gobbies for pre-reg.
$65 at the door, plus 30 gobbies if you pre-reg.
$65 at the door if you do not pre-reg, no gobbies.
$55 Pre-Pay and you get 30 gobbies for pre-reg if you also rent your own private building.
$100 Pre-Pay to rent a building (per building, not per person.)
NPC:
$20 at the door with pre-reg.
$25 at the door without pre-reg.

Basically, Rogie is a more expensive site, but it's somewhat mitigated by the fact that they rent out individual buildings. Unfortunately, that means that we can't just use any buildings we want. The main lodge at Rogie sleeps 20, which is reserved for PCs (Pre-payed PCs are guaranteed slots).

We have the option of renting additional buildings (which generally sleep 4-9) for an extra $100. If your group would like their very own building, get us the $100 and we'll get you a building. In that case, people staying in that building pay the $55 cost if they pre-pay (if they don't pre-pay, they pay at the door like normally, the logistics of keeping track of who is with who/etc is too daunting to deal with on site). If you'd like to get a building, pre-pay it with your game fee. Try to give us a list of who you thing will be in there with you and what cabin (roughly, no guarantees unless you know the actual name of the cabin, but we'll at least get you one that sleeps the correct number of people) you'd like.

You may Pre-Pay this event by using Paypal to send $60.00 to allianceseattle@gmail.com. Don't forget to put down your character name. You may Pay-no-Play by sending payment to this address as well. Do not send your pre-registration to this address. Pre-Pay pricing ends July 15th. In order to qualify for the Pre-Pay price (so that you do not owe money at the door), you must also Pre-Register. Pre-Registration must be sent to logistics@alliance-seattle.com by July 24th.

If you Pre-Register by July 24th but do not Pre-Pay, your at-the-door price will be $65 and you will receive 30 Goblin Points. If you neither pre-pay nor pre-register the cost at-the-door will be $65 (you will receive no goblin points).

If you intend to NPC, the cost will be $20 at-the-door if you let plot know you will be attending by July 15th, or $25 at-the-door if you do not.

Current list of Pre-Pays received as of: July 24, 2009

I re-looked at my schedule, and I can actually make this one! It's right after a job I have in Eugene, so I'll probably be late. I'll be NPC-ing, but...

I'm fairly certain I was told in another thread on this very forum that "pre-reg" had no meaning with respect to NPCs. You people confuse me.

As explained in the above post, to pre-reg as an npc you need to inform plot of your attendance. You should also post on whatever "Who's coming to NPC/Here's the food menu/whatever" thread. We need to know how many NPCs we'll have 1) so that plot has an idea of what they'll be working with and 2) to make sure we get enough food to feed all of them. You don't need to send anything into logistics like a traditional pre-reg.

We (Doug aka Chickenleg Jack, myself and our kids) are planning on coming to this event. Can anyone tell me how the cabin's are equipped? Do the bunks have mattress pads? Are there bbq's or fire pits available near the cabins to cook on, or should I plan to cook in the lodge? Does it get cold at night there? Should we bring a space heater? Anything else that you can think of to help us plan would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Judy

Hi Judy,
I will do my best to field some of your questions, but be forwarned it has been a little while since I have been to this site, so my memory has some holes in it.

The main lodge stays fairly warm, has a large fireplace and sleeps 20. The bunks did not have mattresses last time we used the site. The lodge itself has a small kitchen with stove/oven. I believe someone brought a microwave last time, as I do not believe it regularly has one. There is a refrigerator in the kitchen, but it is regular sized, and is used by everyone, so it has a tendency to get crowded. If for some reason you plan to bring lots and lots of fridge goods a cooler is suggested. I do not recall whether the site has plates, pots, pans, silverware, etc (although if someone knows could you share your knowledge?).

As for individual cabins: Again I do not believe they have mattresses either, although I have never stayed in one. They had a tendency to get a bit chilly. Similar to the Silver Falls cabins used by Oregon, there is open mesh windows, so they can be a bit drafty. I would suggest a space heater if you have one just to be on the safe side. Sadly I am not sure whether or not the cabins have electricity.

As for fire pits/bbqs I cannot think of one, but I suspect if you brought an outdoor bbq you could easily find a place to set it up.

Hope that helps a little. If someone with more info or a better memory could chime in and fill in my gaps that would rock.

Holly

Sorry about the delay, I sent an email to the Camp Director and just got an answer back.
Answers to questions people have been asking:
(Copy/pasted/edited liberally from the Director's email)

There are showers on site. There is a shower on each side of bathroom closest to Kiwanis Lodge.

There is a fully equipped kitchen and dining hall. Flatware, plates, bowls etc.

There are outdoor fire pits but not have grates or grills on them. There is a large charcoal grill (it holds about 40 hamburgers at a time)

There is not a burn ban in place. As a matter of fact it has been pretty cool as of late. You may want to bring extra blankets and sweatshirts.

There is some tent space available, but not much. You may be tenting immediately next to another tent/group.

The cabins have four bunk beds plus a single bed in each of them. They have mattresses on each bed. There is power to each cabin but I would not recommend a space heater as the windows are just screen. A good sleeping bag and an extra blanket will be plenty. The nights have been getting down into the low 50s and we have been getting anywhere between mid 70’s to mid 80’s in the afternoon.

We are reserving the dining hall, which has a kitchen similar to Miller's. (So more space then the tiny kitchen in the lodge itself. Plan to keep your food in the dining hall kitchen, not in the lodge fridge.)

Hey! Hey!
The Pre-Pay list is updated. I wasn't as on it about reminders this time, and technically the pre-pay price ended yesterday, but if you get your pre-pay in by Friday evening you can still get the pre-pay cost and save a little money at the door. Sorry I can't extend it any longer then that, paypal takes about a week to get us the money, and we need it to pay for the site!

Pre-Pay list is done!

Someone pointed out that in the first post I said that if 'you wanted a cabin that we needed $100 from you' in on place, and that it was '$100 per night' in another place. It's $100 for the weekend. If you were misled and want a cabin, paypal the money to us ASAP.

A few things to know for this weekend:

The temperature could go as high as 100 degrees. Pack accordingly, bring lots of fluids, etc. DO bring your armor. If it actually gets hot enough for armor to become a safety issue, then a No Armor Day will be declared. Don't assume that it will be and leave your gear behind, you're still required to check your physrep with a marshal to get your armor points even if you're not going to be wearing it (see your rulebook, p.89).

There is now a burn ban in effect. No campfires, but the lodge fire place and the big outdoor BBQ are still allowed (not that I imagine that anyone will want to light a fire).
