June 20-22nd weekend teaser and info

June 20-22nd Weekend "Buccaneers and Blood Pirates"
Blood runs thick in the Blood Islands as adventurers find out that if there is more to the phrase “Blood is thicker than water.” Captain Ribbons is on hand and acts as guide to the Blood Islands, but is he telling the complete truth? When the all of the debts are called in, will we find that he has mended his old ways or will we find that you can’t teach an old sea-dog new tricks? '

Check the In-game boards for some background on the Blood Islands provided by the Storyteller.

This event, being held outside of Horn's End, does NOT have a tavern so be prepared to bring your own food. Besides the in-game reason we are also trying to give Amy a break. Running the tavern takes so much time for one individual that she hardly gets to play Gwen :(

If there is anyone who would like to handle a meal for everyone at this event, please post here so it can be organized as to who is doing what meal.

Also if there is anyone who would like to donate some time to help Amy with tavern, please contact her about joining the Tavern committee. Even if you can only cook 1 meal this year, serve 1 meal, help clean up, or whatever other task needs done, ANY help would be appreciated. So PLEASE!! lend a hand if you can!!

Thank you,

Thank you,

I will still be taking care of feeding the NPC's for this event, any donations for NPC camp would be helpfull as well. Bottled water, Sports drinks and the like would be most appreciated as we need to keep our NPC's hydrated and energized.

A little birdie told me to expect a whole bunch of those this time around...I think I'm going to make TWO pies this time...:)

Matt,

If we plan on serving a meal, can we collect OOG money or should we expect to only be able to sell it for IG coin? Also how many people should we figure on and are we expeted to feed NPC :)

Thanks,

Paul

We do not charge OOG money for food here but what we do is this:
You can donate food in one of two ways 1)You can donate it OOG and get Gobbies or 2)You can take it IG to Gwen who will barter with you and pay you IG coin for it.
You can donate your time to help with tavern in one of two ways 1)You can help out for gobbies or 2)You can work for Gwen and get paid IG coin for it.

This is what is normally done when we have a tavern at an event, but when we do not have a tavern we handle it in the following way:
If you wish to completely handle a meal or an events worth of meals you will be given gobbies for the cost of the food and for the work involved in the food prep and serving etc... Then you can charge whatever you want for the food in IG coin which you get to keep.

As far as how many people, I don't know until the pre-reg's are in. The deadline is Midnight of Monday 6/16/08. I will post first thing Tuesday Morning as to the final numbers. As for NPC's, if you wish to feed them as well that is great but if not we will have them taken care of. Free food for our NPC's is one of the benefits we give.

If anyone else has any other questions please ask. I'm more than happy to answer. :D

Thanks for the interest Paul.

Beverly

At the campsite there is one small charcoal grill. The grill that Amy brings to do tavern does not belong to Alliance Traverse. It is her personal property. Many people have also used the woodstoves in the cabins to cook on and it works really good, but I'm sure doing that would depend on how hot it is this event.
