June Weekend Event

I had a good time this weekend. I wanted to take things slow, and I did do that. Since the responsibility to be up and doing stuff is on the player, I think plot did a great job still letting me accomplish my goals while not constantly mod grinding like I so often am. Did a ton of roleplay mods this weekend, it was a great chance of pace, and exactly what I needed.

I felt the event went a bit slow on Friday and didn't pick up much until Saturday evening. No one, including myself seemed to have much on the agenda to do, so it felt like there was not much to do accept look for trouble. I felt like some mods took a long time to set up for and the hook for the games feel completely through, not sure what happened there. Players didn't want to do anything else since the games were supposed to be happening and they never did. There was a lot of rp time this weekend which is a nice change.

On the other hand the tower mod, which turned into the pebbles mod was awesome. I loved the whole setup for it. I think it was a great teaching tool for new players and old alike.

Overall, had a great time, and I was so happy we could make it up there for it.

I was so happy to see all the new players on both sides of the fence that I peed a little! A super HUGE thanks to all the NPCs, you were all amazing!

TRIBUTE!!!

I enjoyed the more roleplay-heavy event. It allowed me to worry about things other than beating down elementals without feeling like I wasn't participating. The new laws were also a really interesting addition, it complicated things and has created some tension between the adventurers and the nobility.

My only complaint is that several PC's seemed to have a sour attitude about in-game downtime. We all need to remember that the plot team and NPC's work their asses off for us, and we need to figure out ways to entertain ourselves when we aren't on mods. If nothing else, interacting with each other's characters is always an option. Make friends, share information, learn a new skill, lose all your money in dragon poker, break some laws, go NPC for a few hours, or even throw a party for fun, but taking it out on plot or constantly complaining seem like bad ways to deal with boredom. We're here to have fun, and sometimes we have to make our own.

I enjoyed the event. Some things worth mentioning:

-Discoveries at the end of the ancient library.
-Diplomacy discussions with a former foe, The Beast Lord, and how well that went. Especially enjoyed it when Pebbles interjected, very much Biata vs Barbarian ways of thinking. Thank you.
-Wild Rose Company. Makes me miss my guild terribly. I hope these guys keep coming. Someone has to do dental.
-Tower Mod, both sides. Sticking around to watch Mathis steal my fortune.
-Witnessing the birth (and kidnap) of a baby Elder Unicorn.
-Reducing contract magic usage to make the world bigger again.
-Some time to relax and play some Dragon Poker. Will have to play against Zeus more often who couldn't get a split of more then three even if he was lucky.

I do agree with Summer that OOG negative vibes were felt from certain PCs. It is important to remember this is a Game. Both parties need to be having an enjoyable time or else this game would not be able to function.

Not sure that the Sphynx champ should hate libraries... but damn. I hate that one.
Ahlanadicking... wtf really?
Missing my promotion and being congradulated with no idea why, only to find out later.
Working on diplomacy with the barbarians... it actually going quite well, and then Pebbles bringing me up on charges.
Someone shouting for help, arriving to find Rayne in need of a life spell.
The next night someone running down the trail looking for a life spell, this time for Zeus.
Deck of many Things! :)

I really didn't do anything outside the diplomatic circle this weekend. While I had a ton of fun doing it... it doesn't pay for dinner...
