Just read the event announcement...

And is anyone else super-mega-duper-quadra-excited? Because even though my birthday is between now and November I want it to be November NOW.

Totally there with you. This is looking awesome, and I like the concept right now of no inn. Makes everyone play and do stuff. Very intrigued to see how this will play out.

I have just 1 thing to say:

SQUEEEEE!!!! *flails*

2 incoming east coasters for this! X-D

Sweet.

We will figure out sleeping stuff for you, and let us know if you need weapon reps.

Are we expecting a sarr and an elf? Or a raccoon? Or an ogre? Your hubby has too many PCs and ideas for PCs. :wub2:

I'll need a spear for sure, we'll see what we can manage to fit in luggage for other reps. Todd's not sure what he's playing yet ^_^

Cool, I just aired out and fixed my period pavilion. Glad we were already planning on setting up gypsy camp.

Hey, so, re-reading the event announcement...

What level of "we're all fucked if we go near the tavern" are we?

I mean, will I have to go down to the pool area just to use the bathroom and/or showers?

Will I actually be able to eat food (ie, nuke something hot, gulp it down, and be gone within 10-15 minutes), or are we at the AU level of hiding in the bushes starving, desperately wondering if we can get to the tavern long enough to grab a breakfast bar out of the pantry and run for it?

I'm just wondering at the level of self-sufficiency I should pack for, including food prep.

Also, if we're pretty much banished away from the main building, why are we spending so much on Cutter, when there are far cheaper camps (such as Cheeseborough) that could support this better.

OOG, see below. IG, FOIG.

Plan on not having access to the lodge for these purposes. That may change as the weekend progresses, depending on the weather and what happens IG.

If you need OOG access to the kitchen to prepare meals please contact a member of the staff and we will make an accommodation. Any such meals should be quickly prepared and taken elsewhere to be eaten.

The more self-sufficient you are (and the more willing to work with us on this), the better the game experience we can provide you will be. Remember, you are travelling through a portal to an unknown place, leaving behind most of your comforts. That said, we understand that some exceptions may need to be made. Also, we are watching the weather this week and will adjust things if necessary to make sure there is a place to shelter in the case of inclement weather.

Also, if we're pretty much banished away from the main building,
We maintain only that the lodge will not be available for sleeping or dining, and that access to the kitchen will be limited and only in an OOG fashion. Anything else is an assumption which may or may not play out in game.

Okey dokey, so camp stove, fire, and smokey joe it is.

Speaking of which... I can safely assume we can have camp fires in designated pits? I cannot imagine we have a high fire warning at the moment.

With this said, how does a PC buying into the meal plan suppose to work?

One last facilities question; Dan, if you want us to break this out into a new thread, just let me know.

First, echoing Davio: Fires in designated fire pits OK? Is that something we need to check the fire warning for the day we arrive?

Second: Do you happen to know if the cabins have outlets? I'm obviously not planning on bringing any suspension-destroying electronics, but in case people need to plug in space heaters, CPAPs, what-have-you, I was curious what accommodations were like.

Thanks so much for all the info!

There are no known fire warnings at this time. We won't know for sure until we get on site, but it's a fair assumption that fires in the designated pits will be OK.

The cabins do have outlets, though I don't know how many in each. Campers in middle min to usually run power for lights from one cabin, so please be courteous and share outlets if necessary.

As I recall, there is one outlet for each cabin. There is also a switched light in each cabin and hardware stores sell these nifty converters that screw into a lightbulb socket and have two outlets on the sides with another lightbulb socket on bottom. Just be sure to get one with a pull chain or you won't be able to turn off the light without turning off the power or unscrewing the bulb.
