Last-minute invite: Gypsy party

So I've been advertising like crazy on Facebook for this and only just now realised that many people aren't on that site -- durr! So here's all the information for the Gypsy party we're throwing this weekend (February 27th) in Connecticut. If you're interested in attending, let me know!

(copied from the Facebook invite): http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=3 ... 675&ref=ts

The what: An east-coast-and-beyond IG Romani gathering!

The where: The Art League of New Britain building, 30 Cedar St, New Britain CT

The when: February 27, 5pm-11pm

The deal: As Gypsies we play a race that's intensely about family, but it's almost impossible to have a successful Romani Party at an actual event. We've all felt the strain -- that family bond is hard to establish when there are only two or three of us around at any given time. So Karl R. (Kostantinos) and I (Irina) have plotted and schemed and put together a special evening just for Romani. It's time to come together to celebrate being a part of one huge extended familia. All our cousins are invited (even the little ones)!

The expansion: While this is a Romani-only event IG, we have no desire to keep any OOG players from coming. In fact, we encourage anyone who wants to attend to make up a Romani and play for the day! Since this is not sanctioned by any chapter, there's no obligation to put the character you create in any database or spend any build. It's simply a day of raucous roleplay fun. So please, bring your friends! Dress them up! Make them dance!!

The schedule: The earliest we can arrive at the venue is 4pm. Anyone who wants to come around that time and help me set up, that would be most appreciated. Bringing colourful blankets, tapestries and decorations will be an excellent way to create the right atmosphere. Otherwise, we're aiming to get into game around 5.

The necessaries: This is a potluck event -- please bring food, and lots of it! If you have an idea of what you'd like to bring, drop me some sort of line and let me know. Dinner foods, desserts, lots and lots of IG booze. Also, music! Guitars, drums, bells, flutes, zills, songbooks, whatever strikes your fancy. We're Romani, we know how to roll.

The request: I would like to plead with everyone to bring a few dollars (between 5 and 10 would be fabulous) to help me cover the cost of the hall. If this is a problem for anyone, by all means let me know. Thank you thank you thank you!

The game stuff: Kostantinos and Irina have sent messengers to Romani tribes far and wide, inviting them to the lands of Caldaria for the sort of patsheeva not seen in many winters. The meeting-place is on the Sunderdragon family lands, a safe place for a familia gathering. Though the world around is cold, the Romani fires will always be warm!

The clarification: This event is open to every player with an active Romani PC, a few players with active Romani NPCs, and ANY player who does not have a Romani PC but wants to invent a Romani and play for the day. That way anyone who wants to attend is welcome, even if their active PC is not. If you have an NPC you would like to bring, let me know and I will make an inquiry with the appropriate plot team.

I will be bringing a box of scarves and extra costuming for anyone who doesn't normally play a Romani and needs help getting decked out. I would appreciate if any other Romani players felt comfortable doing the same! I'd even be up for some sort of clothing swap/donation at the end, if others are willing. If anyone has any questions regarding Romani costuming, feel free to ask. I have provided some hopefully-useful links below. I also have a copy of the Alliance-wide Gypsy race packet if anyone wants it.
