Latex Weapon Construction

So I've heard probably 5 people say latex weapons are allowed if they pass inspection and 5 people say they are absolutely not allowed for us. Erroring on the side of case-by-case, were I to attempt latex weapon construction what guidelines am I putting my weapon against for it to be used in-game?

The idea is if I know what will fail a weapon, I'll know what to avoid in my designs.

I hate to say it, but when it comes to latex weapons, generally we're at 'does the marshall think you're going to hurt someone with it' rather than any hard and fast rules.
