Laws of Wayside

The authority of the Magistrates of wayside extends over that of the laws preset in a region in regards to:

Murder: The illegal killing of one human being by another. Murder is generally distinguished from other forms of homicide by the elements of malice aforethought and the lack of justification. All jurisdictions, ancient and modern, consider it a most serious crime and impose a severe penalty for its commission. Murder is defined as making someone dissipate or weakening their spirit.

Sedition: is a term of law which refers to covert conduct, such as speech and organization, which is deemed by the legal authority as tending toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition includes subversion of laws and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority.

Treason: a citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure Wayside. It is also considered treason to attempt or conspire to overthrow the government, even if no foreign country is aided or involved by such an endeavor.

Necromancy: The act of casting any spell which calls upon the powers of chaos. Ritual use of Necromantic abilities shall be tried under Unsanctioned Ritual Magics.

Unsanctioned Ritual Magics: The act of engaging in any ritual magics, creation of a circle, node of power, magic item, undead, use of waystone without seeking proper authorities.

Acts of War: Any action by a non citizen of Wayside for which the purpose is to harm the Region of Wayside

Commerce Violations (Taxes): the purposeful withholding of Taxes on sales, profits, or revenue generated in the lands of Wayside.

The Regent or Sheriff may request a magistrates ruling or advice at any time via messenger pigeons, which have already been provided to the aforementioned. The punishments are up to the discretion of the Regent, Sheriff, or Magistrate presiding. The sheriff, Magistrate or Regent may chose to delay for further investigation, or to contest the ruling with the Wayside Authorities.


Laws of Briarpass: The Sheriff has my complete authority to arrest, and charge lawbreakers at his discretion. He may also impose punishments up to 1 Resurrection. The sheriff is encouraged to find ways to repair damages not create more. Anyone who feels the sheriff is not adequate to the task may request Effram Rockfist to precede.

Theft: The illegal taking of another person's property without that person's freely-given consent. The minimum sentence for this is the return or compensation for the item(s) taken.

Deadly Assault: The illegal assault of another person's physical or spiritual body with weapons for the purposes of causing that person harm. This includes using weapons and spell, as well as alchemy and other items.

Assault: The repeated assault of other persons by verbal threat, taunt or physical threat.
