On Blink: It mentions that it is a defensive rifting ability. Recalling previous encounters with Deadlands NPCs with this ability, I remember it being used repetedly in combat (NPC blinks behind a player, strikes a player with an attack and blinks away before the player can respond/strike back). Should we expect use of this skill in this fassion to continue? Or was it a mistake?
For what it's worth, I feel the skill should remain defensive/roleplay and only used if an NPC is attacked. Blinking behind someone, hitting them and blinking out can be frustrating.
It can be used in either fashion. Don't worry, this WILL NOT be used with any sort of frequency. It's mostly meant for fun RP type things, like the pooka or the brownies. We've had one death so far this season as a result of blinking, and Sean, our head of rules decided it was to be a plot death, basically because the PC had no way of defending himself from it.
Good to know. I'll be sure to look out for those pesky...Brownies?! I forgot all about brownies! Hope you switched up the sock puppets...they gotta be pretty old by now.
